I’m currently testing for my Airframe/general and have many job options with great starting pay requiring 0 or 2 years experience. Don’t be afraid to apply for jobs that you don’t meet ALL of the qualifications for. The demand is so high for most airlines/cargo carriers that they’re willing to work with you a little bit in many cases

No seriously, this made me feel so much better. I’m horrified of the oral part because of terminology or over talking.. but this settles the nerves.

Don't do it. Had a friend go with him, and while he was struggling with a project, he was on the phone bad mouthing my friend saying that he was clueless. He called the school and sent pictures of all the failed projects. Everyone at my school knows not to go with him.

thanks for the information, i myself went to aviation institute of maintenance in Duluth Georgia from which i graduated in 2016 8 years ago, got my certificate as an aircraft mechanic but never took any exams like the powerplant, airframe and nothing else but, QUESTION can i still take my orals and exams to get my license even though is been 8 years or do i have to fill any type of form ,thanks and hope to hear from you guys soon.

I am a new A & P that finished school with 26 A's and 4 B's, but am not delusional enough to believe I have nothing else to learn. The hands on experience is a must. I have the grades that show i can learn to perform any task but i don't see entry level positions that talk about their training/mentorship programs. Almost all i see want years of experience with no mention of their willingness to train those new to the profession.

I loved my aviation school experience. Good bunch of guys learning the trade and the material was easy for me. I started during the pandemic so no one was hiring during that time. I took a double load of classes from 7 am to 12:30 pm and 5 pm to 10:30 pm monday thru friday. So i was on campus about 16 hours a day. It was hard but i enjoyed it because i have always been interested in aviation... especially military planes. The disappointment came during the job application process. I am 59 and believe this is what is hindering me.
@tedwards9461Ай бұрын
I just got my A & P last month and have been rejected for my first few applications. I made 26 A's and 4 B's in school but I am 59 years old and I think that is the problem. There are a lot of jobs that I don't apply for because they require years of experience to start. I always look for jobs that are entry-level friendly and don't see much. I am looking for entry level in jets in the Atlanta or Charlotte area. I am 59 but in better physical condition than most 40 year olds.

I think something to cover is living situation if someone were to go to your program for a year. I live in Indiana and I’m not too familiar with that area in Texas. Kinda looked around on your website that you might be able to help out with that or just get a regular apartment for a year lease?? What do you recommend? Lots of good info in these videos, thanks.

I’m an aircraft mechanic. We don’t get treated with enough respect. I wouldn’t advise anyone coming into the field. Overworked and underpaid. Maintenance are just as critical as pilots in making planes fly yet we make a small fraction of their salaries.
