As a long time A&P, IA - the most frustrating thing "doing the job" was reading manuals that said basically "remove and replace", and when you get to the job, it's a rat's nest: That the complex aircraft manufacturer, who's engineers and CEOs know that time is money, don't bother to offer a basic sequence of how to remove & install (i.e. "tips & tricks") hard-to-get-to items. My guess is- that they themselves don't have a clue on the quickest / easiest way to replace a timed out Cessna Citation fan. If memory serves me (25 yrs) I had to pull the toilet out, then the floor, then the duct work, then... and on and on and on..... But the manual just says... simply "remove and replace". No "you must remove xx and xx and xx" or "step 1, step 2, step 3..." Yes, on simple GA single engine aircraft, usually it's not required, but get to twins and up... the MFG should offer help IMHO- if anything to save time & money (and thirdly, sanity).

This helped quite a bit, It's 1PM and I have my test at 7AM tomorrow. I was definitely starting to second guess myself. So far I've mostly just studied the ASA guide with the attached codes per my AKTR and will probably try to run through as much of the broader study guide(s) as I can before I go to bed. I graduated from AIM in Duluth same year. Bad news: You have to take your written’s (gen/airframe/power plant) Good news: they have a 5 week refresh course for free. Go to the school and ask about it, JC is the instructor. Once in the course if you score above 80 they’ll give you a voucher to test for FREE. Then schedule O&P with Mitch. It’s not too late get your license!You’re welcome
@jdjrbmfmdnfj22962 ай бұрын
@@DoritosnQuesocurrently in that school going to block 17 next week, JC isn’t the instructor atm for block 17 he’s teaching something else. To my knowledge, you need one 85 or two 80s on the practice to get your free voucher. Mitch’s schedule is really full all the way out for the next 2 to 3 months.

Where can you get like micro turbine engines or recip engines to practice on. i don't want to do science experiments on my pitts S2B AEIO-540 and I have no access to a turbine. I got my A&P sign off from experience but none of that included turbines. The FAA practical test standards ask you to do particular things to a turbine engine but I have no way of putting my hands on one ... Can you ask the DME to help you if something is too heavy in an exam?
