Tip #1 is actually the best advice for anyone starting online chess......nothing more humbling than loosing to a bunch of kids in 10 minutes or less lol

Big Win! Beautiful, solid position build-up out of the opening. That kid was probably searching for tricks, but your solid play most likely irritated him because he didn't see any tactical plan.^^

Nice win indeed! This is a variation of the 'Kopec' sicilian system. Looks like an Alapin but the idea is to 'hide' the bishop on c2.

Watched game 9 and was unfortunate but still got the draw. Nevertheles, it was a great tournament with big elo gains and big learning experiences. Can always improve with time in critical moments in the future. Like I said yesterday on instagram, we are all proud of you! As an Aussie, it is good to see Australian players succeeding at a high level. Will watch and follow at the Zonals. Go get that WCM!

Huge Congratulations on the big Elo gains this year or last year... 🤔 January is confusing 😂 🎉🎉🎉 Anyways it's been so awesome to see you meet and well surpass your goal of 1850 OTB elo, and now you can't even just use 1900 as the next goal; that's crazy impressive. 👏

Regarding your win today, how were you able to concentrate while your opponent muttered under his breath? You shouldn't have to play under such a distraction. Did you think about talking to the tournament organizers?

We should seriously stop underestimating children and stop overestimating adults. For the most part exposure to formal education and society in general only has a tendency to make the gifted more stupid, distracted and miserable, from which it can take a long time to rebound, if it happens at all.

Hey Hannah, fairly new viewer here from Australia watching your tournament on Twitch and have liked your games so far. It's unfortunate how todays game played out, but dont torture yourself stuff happens, the top players in the world have made these mistakes as well. Use the rest day for some motivation. I'm sure you will turn it around. Also happy new year!
@hannahsayce117 күн бұрын
thankyou so much Chris, it was a painful one, brain stopped working after 5 hours unfortunately 🥲
@christophermarkthacker913717 күн бұрын
@hannahsayce1 yea, that's definitely understandable. Long games can do that. The advantage is that you get to have a rest day to think things over and prepare for the next one. Regardless of how the rest of the tournament goes, you have done great, and everyone is proud of you. Only upwards from here!

Ive seen when u play the open siciliann u lose most of the time so idk why y keep playing it if u dont know all ur lines after qc7 open sicilian players know that c4 and qe2 are the main lines there nc3 is really not good, try analyze and play a4 is prob better than nb3 cause of the plans here, its not great to be worse in the opening and be retreating instead of nb3 a4 and f4 and kh1 improve ur position stopbthking bout bf4 itll never be good here thats how u get 2000 fide, be more critical
