Aggressive vomiting for hours on end even though my stomach is already empty was not what I had in mind. Took me a while to even make the connection because it always started about 4-5 hours after I had taken the Berberine and for the first few times I was just fine.

I miss or see glucagon? You did drive a car whitout braking system? Only insulin you cannot mangement your diabetes? Carb counting with CGM is not my part. The algoritme have to work, commit with the pump en CGM. I wanted what your know opnion.

@DiabetesStrong3 сағат бұрын
How annoying. It has been a long time since I've seen signal loss, or maybe it's just because I don't notice them. With an integrated system, you need that constant connection. Have you been in contact with Dexcom/Omnipod?
@mjfleming1901Күн бұрын
Unclear how to scan the reader across the sensor, so that a reading is given. Also what if I don't want to use the APP? With Libre 2, I uploaded the data into my PC. That worked great for 4 years, and I want to continue that. I will contact my endocrinologist.
@DiabetesStrong3 сағат бұрын
You can use the Libre 3 receiver (that was not available when I made the video, but it is now). No need to scan, blood sugars are automatically sent to the device

Get a waterproof 3rd party overlay patch such as lexcam. Your sensor will stay on for the duration of the 10 days plus the grace period.

My average blood sugar August to October was much lower than the previous 90 days. Yet my A1C came back .6 higher than the previous 90 days. I don't get why.
@DiabetesStrong4 сағат бұрын
That's annoying. Unfortunately, all these devices do have a margin of error. If your average blood sugar was based on finger sticks it could be that you didn't capture the higher blood sugars. If you wear a CGM, some of the sensors might have been inaccurate.

I started using “off label” placement on my thigh, and with fantastic results! Much easier to set and cover with a simpatch or similar sticky protective patch along with a silicone guard to keep it safe from bumps. I believe it may have been your recommendation too!

My son was diagnosed 2 years ago, he started with Libre 2 on the back of his arm and moved to Dexcom G6 soon after. His endo team said he might like to try this placement and he hasn't looked back. I wish we could get the G7 for him with the slimmer profile.

Have they improved the connectivity distances with the G7 yet?
@michagray3 күн бұрын
Started using CGM for the first time. I have the G7. I’m not experiencing the signal loss. The compression low is not a legitimate complaint. It just not designed to be pressed while it being worn. She should have come back and updated the video. I just find some of the complaints here unfounded. I absolutely love it.

This is something you should discuss with your doctor. Your doctor should identify the cause of your hypoglycemia to determine the right treatment for you.

I’m dealing with this now, I was critically ill in hospital I suffered a ruptured stomach ulcer, I had so many blood transfusions but a few weeks later I still feel dreadful, I can barely walk, my gp tells me I’m still severely anaemic and more iron tablets and anti-sickness because the nausea is all the time, I wish I could have an infusion because I don’t feel I’m going to last much longer and I’m not joking.

Mind you, this is using the hand held receiver. I may not make the transition to the G7 if there are communication issues. Thanks for pointIng this problem out.

You can buy packs of 1 and up to 10 sensors. Each sensor is disposable, so once you're done wearing it you just throw it out

Can I use stomach placement for Dexcom Stelo? (the OTC version)
@DiabetesStrong4 күн бұрын
I only wore Stelo on the arm, but since it's the same as Dexcom G7, I'd think it'd work just as well on the stomach. It is however considered off-label so that's worth considering.

It's the exact same sensor as the dexcom G7, it's only crippled at the software side. If they can produce these at a 60% discount, it means that dexcom is just greedy when they sell it at way higher cost to T1D users. I suggest all T1D patients write to their legislators to protest about this.

R u not in the USA like me? Ohio Medicaid was giving people brand name Humalog insulin at $300+ per vial instead of Lispro which is a tenth of the cost. Lispro is the same insulin made by Eli Lilly but just in a different package/with a different label. But now they won't pay for the test strips that r needed to use the glucometer that comes with the Medtronic pump. Government doesn't do anything in a way that makes sense.

@ Its revolting indeed - there are pricing differences also within europe, but US healthcare costs always seems way more expensive.

I’m on my 5th Stelo sensor. I’m not diabetic. I’m using mainly to try to understand why my A1c has been climbing, but my blood glucose measurements are always low/normal. Basically I’ve found that Stelo agrees with my other blood glucose meters, which leaves me with no explanation.
@DiabetesStrong4 күн бұрын
That's one of my issues with this product, I don't think it has good enough analytics. It could of course be that there aren't any consistent patterns, but you could ask your doctor to take a look. Just to get a medical professional's eyes on it.
@kinpatu4 күн бұрын
@ I agree. Part of the reason I’m gathering this data is to make the case that my A1c elevation is NOT from blood glucose. Without data, primary care just assumes I’m eating ice cream and cake and forgetting about it. They basically blew me off at my last visit before I got a CGM. So I paid out of pocket for anemia panel and hemoglobinopathy tests. Both normal. All I’m left with is grasping at straws, such as salicylate rich foods, which can throw off the test result depending on the lab. This is why I tell people, A1c is a good test, but in isolation canNOT be used to diagnose diabetes.

Signal loss goes off all night long when sleeping. Can’t figure out how to make this stop. Anytime it loses connection the alert goes off. Dexcom IT said it is designed to lose connection every 30 min. So I have to listen to the alert every 30 min?
@DiabetesStrong4 күн бұрын
Go into the alerts, click "Signal Loss" and slide the toggle to the left. If you still want the alerts you can set it to only alert for example after 60 min of signal loss. That should do it.

I recently found the iLet bionic pancreas when looking to see what other pumps work with my dexcomG7...I am almost sold on the iLet, but currently am taking a pump holiday and returning to MDI. That pump seems kind of nice, except for the fact that I am wanting to lose weight. I've gained 70lbs since being put on a pump in 2018, it seems like I gain 10lbs each year and I am SO ready to get back to a healthy weight. I think your comment about non stop fast acting as basal, is what is sticking with me. It's such a good point :)
