I am 70, and a Tv show had them on and the Who. So what. Sun news made them unbookable. So when banned - Mystery band SPOT live twice. Second time billed on local scene radio identified them and mini riot at Lafayette club Wolverhampton to get in. . At age of 24ish had no idea this was history in the making. Sounded so bad. People fighting on the dance floor. Me on balcony. I went into the clubs quiet back room area to watch attractive pool hustler Irish nun Bridie recently from over the the water play for money to the doss house in adjoining building next door, and easily win. This is not made up.

I have this feeling, sorta like a memory really. Of walking through some type of "in-between" realm after dying, hand in hand with a lady named death. With the sound of Tom's soul singing through the breeze that didn't blow in any direction, it all just was. Can anyone relate?

I was lucky enough to see these guys in a boutique style nightclub in Brisbane earlier in 1999. Just before they continued the tour to Townsville were Mark O.D.d apparently on morphine. Sooooo sad, such talent and individual sound. 1 of my top ten live acts.

Seriously...All this adoration for a man who spent most of his adult life drunk. What's clever about that. When he can talk he just rambles.

Doesn't take anything away from his writing abilities, A pair of brown eyes, rainy night in soho, the dunes which he wrote for Ronnie Drew, Haunted, if I should fall from grace with God, thousands are sailing, lonesome highway, fairytale of new york to name but a few

I'm here in 2024 to (lose) a bet that the Sex Pistols were so "rock and roll" that they NEVER lip synched and mimed to a pre-recorded track on TV. What a disappointment. But I do love the gusto with which Johnny Rotten says "We're Va-cunt!" over and over again on this track. Can't be a coincidence that they chose that word... which allowed them to say "Cunt" over and over again on the radio and in concerts and on TV... :)
