I must have more idea than I thought since I felt cutouts would be an improvement for the 115 - the tail is tough to sink to pump, Shame to lose the box though, I need that, I also prefer the longer mast track.for versatility.
@BullroarerTook12 күн бұрын
Agree to disagree. I have the FANATIC stingray 115 and the tracks were too far forward. Now they are in the right place for a wind foil board. The hybrid ability is lost though.

I am on Sardegna and I try to learn Wing-Foiling and it's so difficult to Pump and get on my Foil in windy conditions. Yesterday I tried a E-Foil lesson with teacher without wind and it was so funny. I need to vuy my own, thanks for the video 🎉
@xsivnos559727 күн бұрын
Wouldn’t foiling in these conditions would be better as a full Electric Foil vs the Foildrive? Cheaper options with Electric boards these days as well.
@worthingwatersports25 күн бұрын
Heya, most good and comparable E-Foil boards are £10,000-£15,000 The beauty of this system is can be used on your existing equipment. It is a good way for beginners to learn the foil and then continue to use the same equipment. Foil Drive is 4kg. Foildrive boards are 10-20kg, so the sensation is very different.
@xsivnos559724 күн бұрын
@@worthingwatersports maybe research into brands like SiFly and Waydoo for comparable boards which are half the price you claim. Agree with you on the weight difference but in flat or choppy water where you wont really be pumping anything longer than a minute, weight isn’t really a factor. There is a big difference between the two systems but they are used for different sports essentially. Each to their own but if you are looking at a FoilDrive and you are EFoiling more than 50% of the time then get an EFoil

Thanks a lot for this great video. I've got a question . I'd like to buy a glide for light wind. I ride in lacs essentially. I got a sky free 5.3, wing 6m maxi. I'm 70kg. Age 58 and freerider with a beginner/intermediate level (not passing yet the jibes) . What size would you recommend? Thanks
@worthingwatersports27 күн бұрын
Heya, I would go for the 1305 for light wind and 1050 for higher winds :) I'm a very similar weight.
@redwine1980a22 күн бұрын
I found out 1305 really low wind, but kind of boring. Rather takin our dlab carve and bigger wing unless There is NO wind. Whizz 1000 might be the best, best of 2 world, check it out..80kg here..

@@user-cj9nw1ps6w heya thank you 🤩 I don’t think you can go wrong with the aero free. Maybe 1500 or 1750. I think when you’re ready to progress the 1500 will be best for long term. You probably won’t need another foil as they are very efficient

Nice video, loving the 850 Carve 2.0 for kite foiling - perfect balance between speed and manoeuvrability. That "adverse camber" you are referring to is Dihedral - the angle up from the horizontal, Anhedral is where it angles down.

I get the idea of lighter rigs, but brands making boards lighter seems freaking nuts, use the lighter materials to make them stronger and last longer. Eat fewer sausages folks, that will get you planing quicker 🤣
@worthingwatersportsАй бұрын
Heya, interesting thoughts. The new boards are not only lighter, but they are stronger and will last longer. Due to using higher quality materials and high standard manufacturing processes... It is not just to get the boards planning quicker. The 'dink' and dent ability of the new DLABs is much higher than anything before from fanatic/duotone. They are noticeable stiffer even just to touch
@windsurf888Ай бұрын
@@worthingwatersports changing from cobra to kinetic is certainly a good move, yet, the lighter boards may be stronger than previous ones but why not increase even more durability when you have the weight advantage? My experience FWIW: It's a no brainer to pay the extra for the carbon if you can afford it. The difference in weight over the aluminium even when rigged on a wing is very noticeable. The Platinum SLS feels great in the shop and on that basis, I purchased one. However, after trying it out on the water, and much to my surprise, I discovered that I preferred my old standard Platinum. I found the grip on the SLS too small. It felt like, in an exaggerated example, trying to hold onto a pencil. And that's from someone who immediately jumped onto the Windsurfing Hawaii reduced diameter 'Power Taper' booms back in the days of windsurfing. Maybe it is different for those people who use an overhand grip for their front hand? Or maybe I am just the rare exception.
