The new grip 3 d/lab looks sweet! Not sure if I should get the 85 or 95. I had a 2021 grip 86 but it rode really small. I’m afraid the 85 will be like that. What’s the sail range on the 95 compared to the 85. Which would be best for 4.2-5.7. Mainly using 4.7-5.3. Weighing 82kg. I demoed a mamba 93 2 years ago and that felt good that’s what got me thinking about the 95. I have a 75lt tri wave for the 3.7-4.2 days.

That is a very good question. These boards are much lighter than the mamba. Giving them a much better bottom end, lower wind range. But that may cause them to feel over boarded quicker especially if jumping. I think the 95 will be best. You are 10 kilos heavier than me and I use the 85 a lot. Intresting that you say the 86 ride small. I found it big compared to the 82 they had at the same time. But I guess quads have thinner and less volume in the tail. The tri waves sit a bit higher. 95 to 75 is always going to be a big gap. But I don’t think 85 will be enough as your larger board at 82kg on 5.3

Thank you. I failed to mention I also have a 85 Freewave and a 99 skate so I wouldn’t have to worry about the gap. Ideally I would want the 95 or even 108 for my light wind wave board and the 85. But I’m only able to buy one at this time and maybe another next year.

the Grip 3 85l is super efficient and plane really early and keep great speed on the wave, plane earlier then the grip 4 93L. the Grip 3 85 is a fantastic board, you will be happy :-)

So you weighed the D/Lab without fins and the other with fins ! So it looks like the actually weigh about the same?

dlab version is 300gram lighter because they remove the paint and stickers from board .Wonderng where are producing dlab versions.
