43 year old beginner guitarist over here. Was super apprehensive about changing my own strings; no idea why. Your video was incredibly easy to follow and I wish I’d found it sooner! Thanks!

Re patch cables, most seem to be shorter 6” length. 13” you recommend in video seem quite long and harder to find.
@ConorRocksYT2 күн бұрын
6 inches will be fine if your pedals are close together! 😊 I prefer 12+ because I can route the cable under my pedalboard, and can set them up further apart.

at 1:35, I see the saddle struts are all slanted and not straight/parallel. Is that how it should be?
@ConorRocksYT2 күн бұрын
Ideally not! Try and get them level if you can 😊

I have a question….im getting a squier strat and a fender frontman amp do you think that’s good enough????
@ConorRocksYT3 күн бұрын
It depends on your budget! If that's what you can afford, then that will be fine 😊 I started off with the exact same set up. If you have a bit more of a budget, I'd recommend upgrading the amp to a modelling amp - something like a Boss Katana - as it'll give you some more range!

Was going so well, then got up to step 6 and broke 5 strings trying to get the string to bend around the fret. I gave it from a tuning peg to 2 frets worth of slack and it still wouldn’t bend around the peg and it’s starting to do my head in

My amp only has volume, gain, and tone :(
@ConorRocksYT2 күн бұрын
That's okay! Crank the gain up and turn the turn just over halfway 😊 it'll give your amp some brightness and edge!

Guys why is my guitar strings not pushing out of the back?
@ConorRocksYT2 күн бұрын
Do you have a trem style guitar with a backplate? If so, they can get jammed - you can either remove the backplate (which I'd do) or move the bridge using the whammy bar (but it's easier to just remove the backplate!)

2:50 messed me up, there was no side to see what the strings looked like to coil them and it caused me to mess up making the coil go up because i was using the bit of loose string as the marker for what you were talking about. Now to go buy a whole new set, and try again.

Im thinking of changing my strings into thicker ones, for the first time. But im afraid they might not sit well between the nut. Should i worry about that or nah? Also, i see your using that thing to wrap the string all around the tuner post or whatever you called it, i dont have that, but im afraid i might do messy without having that tool. Any advice on that aswell? 🙇♂️

@@ConorRocksYT Yeah, it really is. Well, this is my second one because I had to send the first one back (twisted neck) but this one's good. It doesn't compare to my Godin Session but I wanted a guitar to practice on (and I'm not rich enough to practice on a $1,200 guitar) and this guitar is *perfect* for that. The semi-hollow body means that I can practice even without using my amp because it has good acoustic sound from the F-hole. I would recommend it to anyone because Donner offers incredible value for money and I think that's the most important part of any purchase, guitar or otherwise. Cheers from, like, Canada, eh? 😁👍

Without having a guitar, I've learned that you should look up a video for every specific thing instead of an all in one! You will get in detail explanations of "What does this do?" "Will this break it?" "How do I do is?" DO RESEARCH!!!

My fender player strat 2019 has a floating bridge. I encounter difficulty while bending 1st string from 8th fret onwards. Means its a lot harder to bend than on a hardtail squier strat. The neck relief and string height is fine. I'm not able to figure out what's the issue. Can you please help me out?
