It only needs two but I often use four, or just sticks. Works just as well. The extra are for the head and footbox to make more room in the tent. Otherwise, it sags on my head and feet.

Getting ready for the Colorado trail in August of 2025. I am from New England and I generally use the PCT method but I have been told this is the way in Colorado because of the type of trees and all the beetle damage. You did a very nice job explaining the complete process. Thank you

Ryan, I enjoyed your presentation so much, and it is one of the best I have seen after watching many similar tour videos, I am going to subscribe to see more videos and will recommend this one to others. Keep up the good attitude and enjoy your travels and life. Well done on this build/example and your video. Happy trails!

@ryankodakbrown I just came across 'Out There', and after watching it last night I had to comment to say how extraordinarily enjoyable it was! Extraordinary AND enjoyable on too many levels to list in a simple comment here! But... THANK YOU for making it. I'd say the time and effort you put into it was thoroughly worthwhile... and I bet it took a lot more work than most people imagine. I came to your movie via a round-about route, first through Chris Townsend's book, High Summer, about the first end-to-end traverse of the entire Canadian Rockies (from Waterton Lakes to the Liard River), and then through the GDTA and speaking with Kate Hamilton. And now it's definitely high on my list of potential future big walks. The way the Durston's did it definitely appeals! I wonder if you've read Chris Townsend's book? It's due to be re-released on November 1st this year (2024). (I'm helping get it back out into circulation.) I think you might appreciate it... Anyway - thank you, again, for this truly beautiful movie!

I am blown away! This is one of the greatest hiking films I've ever seen - not just on KZbin...I mean anywhere. It's one of the few films that make wish I could somehow forget it so that I can have that feeling again of watching for the first time. Bravo, Kodak and Cinnamon. This was pure inspiration.

Thanks for sharing. This is a handy alternative hang method. I had seen this a year ago or so and I needed it on a recent trip, but couldn't remember exactly how you rigged it. I was thinking you used a stopper somehow, but it's more simple than that.

What bike pump would you recommend? Looking for a solid legit quality pump.
@RyanKodakBrownАй бұрын
I used a Topeak Mountain Morph for years and years. Great pump: amzn.to/4gWGssd This year I started using a LEZYNE Micro Floor Drive. It's beautiful and the metal barrel is a great astetic: amzn.to/4eH73rF Not sure which I like more, but these are the two best. The Topeak is maybe faster since it's press on but the Lezyne is so nice.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. I am also allergic to mosquito bites and for years avoided traveling anywhere where they are bad. But this year I got a mini Beurer Insect bite healer and it has changed everything! I take it everywhere with me now. I hope this can also help Ilse and any others who are allergic.

Let me sprinkle a little of guy magic on the reason that that van last that many miles. First and foremost that's mostly highway miles on the van highway miles are better than City miles because of the engine gets cool air for a long period of time secondly it's a V8 engine remember the bigger the engine the bigger the parts big parts don't break as easy. Thirdly is the design Ford specifically made these cars for government and commercial use you don't want to design a bad engine for America's infrastructure because if it fails consistently you'll get a bad reputation hence why Ford engines are very slow but reliable and produce good torque.

I tried out both Jackery 1000+ and Goal Zero Yeti 1000X. Jackery does not work for me. When I contacted Jackery for charging problem from solar panels, they keep telling me that I should have used Jackery panels. I brought "portal power station"! That means I will travel. When I travel, I may not always bring my solar panels. I may just use whatever solar panels that I can find or borrow. Only works with Jackery panel defects the purpose of being portable! I tried the same panels with Goal Zero, no problem! Looks like Jackery's target customers are those who imagine that they will bring the power station somewhere, but actually stationary at home, or stay in expensive hotels. I can see the influence from Apple, only works with its own accessories so that they can charge you an arm and a leg.

I only planned on watching half of the film, and the rest another night. But I was so captivated by the sheer beauty and incredible toughness of the trail that I kept watching until the end. This is one of the most beautiful hiking films I have ever seen. And your spirits were so likable, even when you had hit the wall after days of rain and cold. I knew nothing about the GDT before watching this, and I am in awe of the dedication of hikers and the coalition of people keeping the trail alive. Well done!
