@@thesuperiorkitten well a point of this video is to demonstrate that it really isn’t about levels. Your strategy, team synergies, and gear is what determines this fight. There was even another person who did this same thing like a few weeks after I made this without using nuts and an entirely different strategy. I did make an actual guide video for this fight as well if you want to check it out. This video is just proof of success, and not a guide at all.

Can you tell me how you managed to accrue 15 reinforcing jams? I couldn’t find it as a farmable item, and seem to have, throughout the course of the game, used all but one of the ones available to find in chests on as stealable items from NPCs, which doesn’t seem to have been that many 😢

@@Thingfishy as far as I know, they aren’t farmable. I don’t remember where I got every one unfortunately, as there were not guides or anything for that at the time. I was just very thorough about exploring to open chests, completing all side missions, and path actioning every single NPC everywhere (except for Osvald’s starting island, which I didn’t find out about until later).

@@lava3256 yep. I even have a video beating him with level 1 characters. Levels are not nearly as important as your gear and strategy, and if you are looking for a guide, I would check out my level 55 guide for this boss. This specific video was just for fun to show how high Hikari can hit, but the actual guide videos show how to win with an average team.

As far as I know, you can't get an infinite amount of them. During my playthrough, I was just very thorough with opening chests, doing side quests, and path actioning every NPC, which is where I got them from.

@@robertogomez2932 I mentioned it in the description in more detail, but basically if you are on PC, you can manually adjust your levels back down to 1 via the save files. You can’t do this normally, and consoles can’t do it at all

I think I mentioned it at the beginning, but since it isn't possible to be level 1 at the final boss, I had to manually set my characters to level 1/50 in the game files. When you do that, even though it sets their base stats back to the level you input, it doesn't get rid of how much XP they have earned, so as soon as they do a single fight (in this case the final boss), the game registers that they already have enough XP to be a higher level (in this case my characters were all previously 99) and they immediately jump to that level.

impressive !! But i don't understand how osvald can unlock "one true magic" when ur lvl 1. Cause of u deafeat last bosses and dont lvl up ? Do u using a mode or something for lower ur lvl ?

The full explanation is in the video description, but the short version is that on PC you can manually drop your levels back down to 1 by the editing the save file.

Hey, sorry to bother you with this 5 month late comment but I wanted to ask you something since you appear to be quite the expert on Octopath Traveler II I have a challenge for you regarding Galdera if you want to try it: Can you beat Galdera... while revealing all his weaknesses? As in, leaving none of his weakpoints uncovered? This applies to both phasess, to all his parts, especially Galdera's blade in the second phase, which according to resources, has two sets of weaknesses? I ask this because I want to make a guide of sorts that have you uncover the weaknesses of every enemy in the game (or at least as much as possible), including bosses, and Galdera no doubt is a very big hurdle. And considering all the Galdera videos you did, I was thinking if you can do it, then it'd give me and others a guideline on how to do it ourselves If not, sorry to bug you, and very good videos.

I'm not really against the idea, but as far as I know, the blade only has 1 set of weaknesses, although his main body is phase 2 has 3 different sets. Where are you seeing it say the blade has multiple sets of weaknesses?

It's just according to the Octopath Traveler II resources doc, Galdera's Blade of the Fallen has two sets of weaknesses (complete with separate shield points)

I have Oswald at 999 elemental attack, same build as this + latent power and I still only do half of the damage you're doing with one true magic III. What's going on?

So I can't know for sure without seeing your fight, but if it's doing roughly half as much damage and you are using the exact gear/support skills as I am, it sounds like you either don't have an elemental attack buff on Osvald or don't have an elemental defense down on the boss (or the boss isn't broken, but I'm assuming that isn't the case).

@@JackNapierKnows yeah if you don’t use the peek a boo, you need to put an elemental defense down debuff on the boss in some other way. Without that debuff that the peek a boo puts on the boss almost everytime, you will loose roughly half your damage.

Yeah this boss sucks. I know it’s optional, but it’s required for 100%. I think if they made that phase with the elemental weaknesses a bit easier, it would be so much better, still challenging but fair.

This is pretty cool. I took inspiration from this and decided to do something similar myself, but the goal was to make the strategy not rely on turn order RNG, and to avoid using level 99 characters (I went with level 80 in the end, since that's around the highest point I'd consider realistic to grind to) while still doing each phase in "1 turn" (2 if you count step ahead). I couldn't make it entirely consistent, since ochette still needs to land a defence drop, just like in this strat. I did need THREE battle-tested blades to do it lol (though no duplicates of anything else). I also avoided nut farming, but I'd imagine this strategy did as well. Here's a general gist of what I did in each phase (I've uploaded a full fight to my channel in case anyone wants to see it in action): Phase 1 (Armsmaster Ochette, Cleric Throne, Castti, Cleric Partitio) On turn 0, I applied aelfric's to both throne and ochette, and (since aelfric's turn order is consistent) had throne kill all souls while unbroken and undebuffed with aeber's before having ochette break and debuff the eye with provoke beasts (I also applied a crit buff to guarantee I can critical hit the eye). On turn 1, I had castti refill BP (and heal to re-activate peak performance) with concoct (she went first via a defend), partitio apply aelfric's to castti, throne use disguise to copy ochette, then the two of them spammed lionheart's axe to kill the eye. Phase 2 (Arcanist Hikari, Cleric Agnea, Conjurer Temenos, didn't actually need a 4th character lol) Turn 0, Agnea buffs hikari with attack up, hikari (1 hp alpione's) uses hienka to guarantee he acts after being buffed, then OHKOs limbs w/ sentencing gavel. On turn 1, I refill hikari's BP, use aelfric's twice to ensure I get 2 actions once he becomes vulnerable, then apply an ancient cursed talisman before OHKOing with Limb from Limb. Note that at level 80 with maxed p.atk, limb from limb actually is around 2k damage short of the kill if all 4 hits roll minimum damage. To remedy this, I had temenos apply fire enchant to hikari on turn 0, and gave hikari as many magic nuts as possible (and used scorched bone spear + mooneater for extra fire damage).

10:45 its actually exactly like you are ambushing the enemy. It doesnt stack with ambush and if your foe ambushes you, you dont get the turn

Please help me!!! I keep getting to 2nd phase but with all same gear and lvl 65 Hikari I’m still not pushing the damage enough and get wiped. No more physical attack nuts

@@volkswagenjoe18 are you referring to the cleric divine? You would use that later in the fight. Basically after Temenos puts cleric divine on Hikari, his next move should be to crit scope the boss.

There are various NPC’s (one for each piece of battle tested gear) that you can fight that have a very low chance of dropping multiple battle tested gear. The sword specifically comes from the high level NPC in the eastern village on the beast people island (it’s been a while since I’ve played, so I don’t remember the name of the town). It’s the “young man” npc that is shown as having a maxed difficulty when you try to duel him.

you cannot get the champion's belt if you start the final mission and without it, you cannot one shot the arms or the boss. Trying to find something similar but no luck

How do you get your attack stats up to 999?

There’s a few things you can do for that. A lot of your attack stats come from weapons, and the battle tested blade gives 400 by itself. There are also the physical attack nuts that give permanent bonuses to that stat, which I happened to use way too many of on Hikari (he doesn’t need much to get to 999 p attack). You can also use the bodyguards vantage shield for another 60 and/or the support skill that gives another 50. There is also the champions belt which gives 100 (can equip two of them to have 200), or 150 if you use enhanced accessories support skill (300 if wearing two).

Great video! I had a few questions: 1) Are you just using shield of strength for the memes? As far as I know, it's a joke item that just makes you take guaranteed criticals. 2) Was there a reason you didn't use Hienka to kill Galdera 1st phase in your second example of the fight? 3) Is there a particular reason to use Master of Offense over Peak Performance when Critical Scope and Targeted Strike exist?

Which stats are higher, and which buffs are you specifically referring to? My assumption based on what you said is that you might not be considering that Aeber’s scales in power off both speed and physical attack rather than just a single stat. Even if you might have higher speed, if my Throne has much higher physical attack than you, it will hit harder. Additionally, you need both a physical attack and speed buff to get the full effects like this.

My atk and speed it’s higher than yours in the video , I have the same equipment and by buff / debuff I meant that the eye has defense/elemental defense down and throne has attack up due to castti latent power. Max damage I’m doing it’s 55k , guess I need to train more Osvaldo to do a couple one true magic

Similar to my other comment on my other video, in Octopath 2, this is the secret boss and is not the final boss. The final boss is completely separate in the sequel. This is the final boss of the first game.

It is just impossible for me to tell everyone how much I love this game. The characters stories, music (everything is fucking phenomenal). This game is my game of the year, and it plus persona 5 royal probably saved me from a time when my life was probably at its worst. If you are considering getting octopath 2, and like JRPG’s, please play this game. It’s worth the entire $60 price tag. I’m going to buy the first one after this now. This game is a work of art. The Voice actors are insane. Alajandro Saab did a next level job as Osvald (he’s probably my favorite character), and I just can’t get over everything. All of the stories were amazing, and I loved Agnea’s story. I love this game so much man. All of the character themes are next level, the character development during the stories, the final bosses for each story was super cool, and the depth of the characters was amazing. I absolutely adore this game. The final boss was also phenomenal with everything coming together and taking down vide was amazing. I love this game to death. Also a difficulty slider would’ve been nice for the later bosses since my main team was so over leveled and the story oriented character was a little under leveled. Also the final boss is so cool. The unique dialogue, and the full boost quotes are amazing. “There is hope for tomorrow!” “Light will prevail!” Oh and my favorite “THIS IS THE FINAL ANSWER!” I loved the special quotes. It made it that more impactful. Also I have yet to beat Galdera, but I’m going to put some more effort into it, and try to platinum the game on my ps4. Also, I would 100% buy a dlc for more secret bosses or more bosses in general. They all had really cool mechanics, and I loved them.

Also I loved all of the story bosses. Osvald’s story as a whole was probably my favorite. His development in the party, and his interactions with partitio in his crossed paths thing was great. Osvald had my favorite story chapters, and his theme is phenomenal. Hearing it when fighting Harvey and being able to nuke him from existence with the One True Magic lll, alongside his killer quote with it (I find myself saying it with him when I use it). Also I’m still upset that Crick got killed in Temenos’s Stormhail route, but I saw it coming. I love this game so damn much. Also what you said about the story reasons for Crick dying made sense. It made me feel awful, and made me want to kill whoever did it. It made sense story wise!

First of all I want to say thanks this guide was really helpful! It was confusing though in one sense because you have three different characters with cleric as their secondary. The game will not allow me to do this...

So when you go to a guild to get an additional subclass, there is an option when you talk to the guild leaders to do additional tasks to get up to 3 “licenses”, which allows you to have 3 people using that subclass

I did the first phase of the boss with throné(creator? inventor ? Anyway its understandable) agnea(thief) ochette(I've forget her class cause I didn't use it) Cassti(warrior (it's useful to kill the soul who don't died with the other) And now I'm in the second phase with Hikari ( god of the war or something like that) Oswald ( mage (magus?)) Partitio (dancer) Temenos(hunter) AND I DONT KNOW WHY I'VE DID THIS TEAM 🥲 I was thinking that I'll probably could use temenos and partitio as support and do damage with Oswald but I've try once and ....game over .... Now I'm traumatized 🥲 cause I don't want to die and retry again losing like 40 minute of my life and re beat the soul with elemental faiblesse (my head don't work well so I forgot the word)

Well it was a combination of luck and lots of testing. There were a lot of other challenge videos, failed attempts, and testing gear that went into this. Looking at your other comment, I would say that this isn’t a guide video, so I wouldn’t recommend using it for that. Instead, I made an actual guide video on how to beat him with an average team where everyone was level 55 with no duplicated battle tested equipment. I’d recommend looking at that if you are trying to find a guide for this boss.
