Blue wode was made from the belladonna berry & animal fat. The Picts would spike their hair with bull blood & tie severed animal head's around their waists to run into battle. They'd also use a black tar like substance around the eyes that would stiffen & prevent them from blinking! Picture that scene. You're an exhausted roman soldier who has been travelling for weeks, living on rations, dehydrated, with blisters on their feet. Having to do battle with the unknown, and all of a sudden, you capture the sight of a clan of wild looking men, screaming, with staring, dark eyes, spiked red hair, with blue swirls all over their bodies and dead animal heads tied around their waists, running down the hill towards you & the rest of your regiment ! The roman soldiers would turn & run in terror! They built two walls bordering England and Scotland to keep us away! Makes me so proud of my Scottish heritage! Scots Wha-hey! 😅

I’m with the eastern band of Cherokee on the Qualla Boundry in North Carolina. It is still very matriarchal here. You meet someone new you ask who’s your mother rather than who’s your father. This gives you information as to the family.

Such distinctive and delightful artistic depiction of Basque cultural traditions and countryside. The artist has a gift for dramatic use of color and convergence. Wondering the name of the artist?

My wife’s great great grandmother was full Cherokee I been reading about your people, their names and families I have grown to love our Native American heritage. One of the things that we were never taught is the fact that our Native Ancestors came to North and South America 13,500 years before any other. It troubles me to think that someone can move here from the British country and completely ignore the fact that this land belongs to others and their selfish people drove the rightful land owners to land that they wouldn’t allow their families to live and Stoled the Cherokee plus other Native Americans land. Then there murder’s drove these people from their own homes and land so the British people had more land to expand, one of the events that brings me to tears is what the Natives call The Trail of Tears. May God bless these wonderful people and restore all that has been wrongfully stolen from them.

If they are thought to be descendants of the Iroquois, then we should mention that the tribal name of the Iroquois is actually the Hodensone, which means people of the long house.

I do like to see some of this historical stuff on KZbin. But I wish they would give him more accurate and truthful accounting. The trail of tears was a brutal in evil thing our country did to the Cherokee People. There were people murdered that were native Americans Cherokee along the trail of tears murdered. There were women that were raped. And murdered. They were starved they were beaten they were abused. That's the truth of the trail of tears 25% of them died it was because of abuse neglect and murder rape and murder that's the truth

👑 RÍOS FAMILY 👑 DERIVED FROM THE ROYAL HOUSE of ASTURIAS and VISIGOTH KING LIUVIGILD DYNASTY👑.

Rios is neither noble, royal, special or Visigothic. If the last name is common like Rios (that means river) or named after a river or simple tree it's not royal. The Visigothic Christian Knights changed their common last names to more royal, ELEGANT, Catholic, longer, European sounding, Romanesque, rare and holy sounding ones when they got a title in the Reconquista. The famous saying goes, "To be a Spaniard is a source of pride. To be Asturian is to have a title." Rios is not a title but just means river.

I think the Picts tattoos were to help deter midgies! Flies find it hard to land on Zebras because of their stripes. As a Scot, I can tell you that stopping the menace of the midgies would be reason enough!

The Etruscan were indigenous people of color not the whitewashed people you see today or through out the end of the dark ages replaced by the renaissance period by non melanin people conquered the original black culture and became the Roman’s that created Christ and white sumpremecy (colorism through the Catholic Church leading Israel into idolatry (Sunday worship praising Lucifer who became the serpent after his fall and transformed himself into the angel of light Jesus the enemy of THE MOST HIGH GOD OF ISRAEL (wake up Jacob)

My great-grandma Hughes was full-blooded Cherokee Indian. I'm unsure exactly what percentage of Cherokee blood I would have, but my mother aunts, and siblings all have blue eyes and blonde hair. I was the only 1 in 2 generations that had brown eyes, brown hair, and high cheekbones. I'm always told by other family members how much I look like my great grandma.

Interesting thought. 🤔 Cornish wrestling does share some similarities with other grappling styles, but its exact origins are unclear. It’s certainly possible that ancient traders, including those buying tin from Cornwall, could have influenced local traditions, but we can’t be sure. It's fascinating to think about how cultures might have connected over time!
