Some thing that might be helpful, they make those disposable lip gloss, wands kind of like a sample wand for make up and that works too

Hi. Thanks for the tips. Should you ever choose to use tape again, I use my old wooden spools and wind the tape on that. Easy to store in my traveling sewing case. :)

Hi there. I know this is an older post but if you’re still doing epp and flat back I’m curious how you handle flat back and larger quilts. I’m working on Alchemy with 1” hexis. But as the quilt is getting bigger I’m struggling to use flat back. Any hints?? Thanks!

I stitch in smaller segments then stitch those groups together.

How does this work with bigger units, wouldn't that be more difficult?
@thequiltkitco
@thequiltkitco Жыл бұрын
Hello Jip, It works much like any other stitch. As the quilt gets bigger it becomes a little harder top because the top get heavier. But this is true no matter what stitch you use. As the top gets bigger I start to take the papers out. Hope that helps.

I want to make something like this. I just spent a tone of money on lots of fabrics to make my daughter one of these.. I even bought my 108" wide back for the back I did save money there. I want to make my own templates. I don't have a printer or machine So I am trying to use different regular rulers to figure it out.

I was using the tape method for the flat back stitch until recently I switched to basting just my ends together. I kept getting my needle stuck in the tape which made it harder to stitch.

Thank you so much for sharing how and the name of how to do this stitch. This is the second time I’ve seen it done, but was curious since the first time I’ve seen it. Seems with doing it this way, it will assure me that I won’t get stitches on the front from me going to far down on the edges like I’ve seen on my last EPP project. - Stephanie

@thequiltkitco

Cinthia I don't starch. I haven't tried that but I think it would add resistance trying to push your needle through the fabric. I'd be interested to hear how it goes if you try it.

I ha e not tried millefori, or much PP, for that matter. I have been doing hexies recently. Q: (Kathy from Creedmoor, NC) I’m guessing that you can find these beautiful fabrics in your stash. Any fabric line or places to shop online that you recommend for the beautiful, ideal fabrics? (

Kathy, thank you so much. Hexies are the best way to start. Yes most of those prints came from my stash. I have a new line of fabric and I've designed some prints that are perfect for fussy cutting. You can find them at our online store thediyaddict.com/ The DIY Addict
