Good day again Vung Tau rider, Ive been there in Vung Tau City working in PTSC MC site for fabrication of TSJOC well head platform (Trung Son- PetroVietnam Talisman Petronas joint operation) in on shore/ off shore projects. The other job was in Ba-ria Vung Tau in Power plants as Mechanical Engineer. My activities there in that City were to find restaurant for my meals, sometimes bathing in sea, most was going jogging walking hiking going to Christo Ray/ Christ the King monument and im contented to see my Lord Jesus, that was year 2011-2014, im here now in Davao City, Philippines where I lived and ive got some few photos of Christ the King in our Altar and His figurine..what an experiences ive got there in Vietnam, it will always be remembered thru out my life until the day my life disappear, thnx......God bless.

Unfortunately Barry has been silent for more than a year. A lot of us had to leave the country during COVID times because visa regulations got really tight. Currently it's not really possible to retire this way, because there are no long-term visas available for purchase through visa agents. Only for approved expert employees, investors and spouses of Vietnamese citizens. I personally will be switching to a 3 year spousal Temporary Resident Certificate (currently on max 30 day eVisa that cannot be renewed, requiring exiting and re-entering the country every 30 days). Good luck to anyone reading this for retirement guidance. A better option at this time is Cambodia, but maybe things will loosen up here again in the future. Nobody knows

Hey Barry, I hope all is well with you. I had to leave Vũng Tàu on June 2nd because they wouldn't extend my business visa without a work permit. I'm trusting that your visa agent was able to figure out a way for you to stay. Stay well, man. It was good meeting you.

That "huge roundabout" was part of the 1st Australian Logistic Support Group from 1966 to 1972. It wasn't a "roundabout" back then, but rather the point of entrance to the Australian Army base. The base was made up of the Hospital, engineering support, transport, stores etc, etc. The base was home to about 2 ,500 personnel. Using the "roundabout" as the starting point, i.e. the entrance, the area covered, went down to the back beach, south by about 4 kilometers, then back west and then across to the entrance. I lived there from March 1970 to July 1970, then I went to Nui Dat. I was in Vietnam 1969 - 1970, Infantry, and visited many years later with my wife 1996, 1997 and 1999. Yeah... where'd you go? Funny. I saw your videos and out of the blue and much to my surprise, by coincidence I wound up visiting Vung Tau and I think stayed in the same rentals as you. My host said yeah there's a guy here that films for youtube. I thought, my god what a small world. I originally went Davao PH and wound up in Vung Tau. I really enjoyed myself there and rode a rented moped right along the coast. Anyhow, hope you're doing well. And hope you're not back stuck in California.
