Love these mouthpieces play them on all my horns. They have a nice mIx of a classic core of a link whilst having way more power for modern stuff when needed. The only hard point is sometimes altissimo however using thick reeds I find helps a lot I play 3.5. There is probably a holy grail mouthpiece out there that would do this better but I needs to retain some classic characteristics that are link like and not just being too bright! It’s a tricky balancing act to find a piece that fits in both camps! I also wondered why they stopped making this mouthpiece it’s my favourite Theo wanne.

That Yamaha 82z sounds like there is a metallic zing to it. My least favorite. I can be convinced to like the Yana, 3rd on my list. Toss Up between the 875 and the Series III. You had better low end on the Yama and it does not have that mettalic zing. Series III probably needs low end adjustment. I have tried one and hoping to get one. It sounded like a Mark VI but with much better keywork.

Just now picking up the saxophone over 40. I play other instruments and I've been watching your channel. Here's my question. What is the best way about going to play any note at any time over any music I want ? I'm working on the scales. But really it doesn't help you improvise and play overall music. Or just doodle if you want. I'm only about two and a half weeks in.

@@XavierJordanMusicthanks but just doing long tones isn't going to do it I come off of playing the trumpet so I get it. Thanks for your input but I'll figure it out

What exactly is your question, can you specify a little more
@tjtj38296 сағат бұрын
Let me rephrase the question so you can understand. I want to be able to sing through my saxophone. Play any note at any time as if it was my voice? I have a pretty good singing voice. Check out my channel. Alice in chains nutshell cover
@kingseth26284 сағат бұрын
@@tjtj3829 Im not sure if it comes down to one single thing that you’d have to practice. But some of the things I’ll suggest is to get really good at playing by ear: memorizing a great variety of music by ear. You’ll get better and better at bridging the gap, or delay between your brain and your hands because notes will seem so much more recognizable and easier to anticipate. Having a solid understanding of Music theory will reinforce you ability to just play the “next” note without pausing to think. Knowing how to outline chords and create permutations with chord tones so you can create your own vocabulary are parts of the process With Jazz for example: one of the many ways to learn it is by learning a shit ton of solos, fully or partially, so you can understand the language.

Good morning bro l had a 5c which l used for about three years. Based upon one of your reviews l purchased a Giardinelli. Boom everything from altissimo to sub tones was so much easier.You are a special player most of us are not like you. Keep them coming thanks again. I must say again this is a good mouthpiece but the Giardinelli is better.

You gotta have a more smoother tone, should sound kinda like a clarinet. Other than your tone that’s pretty good 👍 (Not necessarily saying your tone is bad, you’re js using the wrong tone)
