Pacific had International cab parts, doors and interior accessories assemble in house, but there have been some where cabs work full International Hayes was the one who's cab inspiration was of Kenworth styling aesthetics but also custom built in house.The cab you see here would be similar to the conventional 4300 Transtar of that era. The Pacific P510 would be most like an International as it was Pacific's on highway heavy duty offering.

O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 I noticed the hood mirror right away! I know what that’s for!! The brief walk around was good at the beginning. Is that a Dorsey trailer as well? I’ve pulled a few of them in my day & I’m not that old. My dad bought several to use for storage & transporting tires & wheels to Ohio. What a unique sound! I love the old trucks, but even more so when connected to an old trailer as well! Do you keep this truck in a garage or barn? That mirror is for looking at the sparks from the exhaust. I’ve heard many stories about the old trucks & the sparks they made. I come from a trucking family & have heard many unique stories from the drivers. It looks like both of the tattletale boxes work. It has been a while since I’ve seen 2 of them in a truck. Good stuff! Thanks for sharing! Blessings! 🥰😎✌️

Thank you so kindly for your reply. The trailer is a fruhauf. Not sure of the year but late 40s early 50s. Yes, the truck is parked in a dry building!

That's good solid design, engineering and construction in that 6X6 tractor. Pacific made excellent tractors back in the day. My favorite was the Pacific P-16 with Cat V12 D3412 diesel engine. In this tractor, all of the axles look to be Clark, unless I'm wrong. The Cummins K19 is a very good, proven engine. Cummins makes one which may fit under the hood, but would be slight overkill, it's the Cummins QSK23, a 23 liter displacement, and bigger brother of the QSK19, with a bigger block than the K19 and weighs on or around 7,000 pounds, dry weight, if I'm correct. I do not know if the QSK23 is emissions rated for a tractor like this, but is used in/offered for marine and standby power applications.

Great video about a great truck! I'm a model builder and would like to build one of these early Kenworths. Unfortunately, here in Germany - and also on the English-speaking Internet - I can't find important reference values for this. Are you able to identify three measurements that I need? I would need the width of the cab at the back, the overall width of the vehicle at the height of the front fenders and the height of the doors. I am thankful for every help!

Hi cool old rig, Do you know much about the history of when and what model White Trucks came out with the factory chrome steel mustang Horse emblem bolted on the bonnet? I've not been able to find a source who knows yet. I think some of the horses have been dated to have come from as far back as 1947 ish but don't quote me on that. Thanks

They are cLled tattle tales, which were e logs of the day. You inserted a paper disk inside, set the time on the clock, then went to work. They would scribe a line on the disk for every rom, speed and time of where you are. So when you turned them into your boss they could see if you were on time, over reving a truck or speeding etc.

The air cleaner is interesting for a southern truck. They actually had a plate under the top intake you could turn so the air would come from the warmer engine compartment. Lots of Canadian trucks had them.
@matthewheinze1231 Жыл бұрын
Given the time frame and the fact he ran flatbed it very likely could have done some hauling up in Alaska on the Trans Pipeline. I knew several old timers that went up there just to haul the pipe. Anyway that could explain the Canadian intake.

I tried to buy this when it was in Baton Rouge,the old man that owned it ran across I10 and up and down I35 he pulled a covered wagon ,the dealer where it was at replaced a bunch of the hose’s I used to see this truck all over texas and Oklahoma
@thesteelcowboy1621 Жыл бұрын
What years was that? It looks like someone in the recent past has replaced most if not all of the air and oil lines. I think my friends grandpa ran it till the late 80s early 90s before selling it. Since then it couldn't have done much. Nothing has changed on it. It came to Minnesota here about 3 years ago after it was bought on an auction down in Baton Rouge if I remember correctly.
