I don't get it... If it takes all that work... Why call it self cleaning?
@pezikiКүн бұрын
It works better outside w/garden hose sprayer. Use pail of warm soapy water w/light brush & lay screens on a flat surface. Rinse well w/hose then lean against a wall; let dry in the sun while you're cleaning the glass. Goes fast and less labor to it.

I have a question. Why is it called a self cleaning oven with even a bottom on the stove to select “ self cleaning” if it seems to be good for Nothing?

This works like a charm. Yes, bleach alone doesn’t really work on those stains. That mixture gets rid of those stains very well.

Nice but I can’t get cooties on the vacuum cleaner so I’ll have to just dust it w a wet paper towel. Thanks for the Tide tip. Also a water rinse off or wipe down between each step.

The stovetop was turned on and we left a plastic cable on it. It got burned and started dropping sparks and this helped

Does anyone know what the grate material coating is? Is it a porcelain coating? (I can tell mine aren't plain cast iron like my outdoor grill) I have cleaned mine thoroughly, but they still don't look 100%. I'm thinking the coating has worn off. I cook a lot!

The hack worked really well on the yellow sweat/BO stains on white shirts and pillowcases! Didn't remove them 100%, but it did a better job at lifting the yellowing than peroxide or bleach. Whatever staining was left blends in with the fabric, if that makes any sense. The only downside is that now they have a strong shaving cream smell, even after washing (I use unscented laundry detergent).

Is it safe to saturate the oven with a water based product? I'd be afraid to plug it back in.

You always inspire me. My 20 year old Kitchen-Aid gets the treatment tomorrow. Thanks, as always.
@vix5815 күн бұрын
a 30 yr kitchenaid is great, it has metal gears (they changed to plastic gears for a little). The gears are literally "gouped" with thick grease, which keeps it running smoothly. If a mixer is left to sit for long periods, or warm temps and tipped from some reason, some of that grease can escape olong the speed adjustment handle, or around the band. I used to buy old kitchenaids at garage sales for around 25.00, my husband would refurbish with new gear grease and cleaning and then I would resell. Along the way, I might have one time had 6 kitchenaids I just couldn't let go of, it was definitely an obsession, I"m down to my original Black gloss (30 yrs old also) Best/worst one was a real copper one, it was gorgeous but cleaning the copper was impossible, any moisture discolored it to black/or green, copper cleaners didn't help .

I cleaned mine a couple of weeks ago. There are 2 little screws that if you undo them you can take off the metal band that has the branding, speed control levels etc on it and really get the gunk out from behind it 🤢
