Awesome!! Excited about your new build. After almost 3 years I'm getting close to a finished se rig myself. 🎉 great seeing you again!!

Definitely looking forward to any Mack's Factory pack and wand talk. I'm 100% vested in that project, specifically using all the Mack's parts as intended and completing the build card, but I think what will be interesting is where us builders will need to fill the gaps, obvious ones probably being the Clippard valves, ALICE frame, electronics, perhaps hatlights etc. and where to source those parts.

It was disappointing when you posted the video last year saying you were going to be taking a break from the channel, and not really knowing how long. I've been back to this channel so many times for information, as im journeying through GB prop builds. Glad to see you back. Two words: Slime blower

Honestly the slime blower build frustrated me to the point of wanting to take the break. Not in a hurry to jump back into that yet.

@TheProtonPackIsNotAToy I hear that. I just completed a scaled down version, and ended up going down a rabbit hole with it. I'm going to be attempting to build a full size, screen accurate prop sometime in the near future. It's a lot more difficult and involved than one would think.

This is awesome news. But I would be happy if only YOU feel up to it. You've done a whole bunch for my Ghostbusters cosplay. When I got stuck on some facet of my proton pack build, I'd refer to your videos to help brainstorm or see how you overcame the problem. You've done a lot for me and Im sure you did a lot for others. The PKE meter is absolutely atrocious. Who ever designed it/programmed it (I'm assuming zack spina) is seriously bad and unqualified.

Am I right in saying, in regards to the wheels - they’re meant to be bigger as that’s the way they were in afterlife, which is the film itself based on?

I was a little worried with the Trap when I lifted it by the handle. I still am NOT confident in the longterm health of that lol. I am likely going to try and get that one smoke machine that slides into the bottom of the trap. I really wish the PKE meter was just the '84 PKE, like a lot of people, but it is what it is.

I'm thinking of chopping off the taser switch make it go away completely
@TheREALBlackMarshBrotherhoodАй бұрын
The handle on the trap and the pedal is disgusting 😭
@nerdloftgamingАй бұрын
You need to flip the taser switch back in place BEFORE resetting the PKE arms. That’s why people are having a hard time putting the arms back 🤦♂️
@Webhead123Ай бұрын
A note for those having trouble with lowering the "wings" from taser mode: Make sure that the "taser" switch on the back of the handle is turned to the down/off position before trying to snap them back in place. Also, lower them one at a time and by holding the black, hinge portion, not by the silver part of the wing. Do it that way and it works like a charm.
@TheProtonPackIsNotAToyАй бұрын
Thanks for adding this!
@dolby409Ай бұрын
Mine automatically returns the taser switch to the off position, then when i snap the wings in place it goes down on its own.
@Webhead123Ай бұрын
@@dolby409 Interesting. I initially had a problem where the wings wouldn't lock back in place at the joint, then I made sure to flip the switch to the down position and the wings locked and retracted perfectly.

My only issues are the pke is way too bulky. And the speakers/sound fx sound awful on both. It's sad when my GB tree ornament sounds louder and clearer than what's in these.
@SpaceWizardCosplayАй бұрын
@@ZerocoolsPropsandCollectibles - This version of the PKE meter is based upon the ones from Frozen Empire, hence them being more bulky.
@NewMessageАй бұрын
I'm happy with MOST of this set.. the PKE is actually amazing... I'd prefer an '84 version, but the weight, the smooth motors, and the much better (though not exactly right) sounds are very well done. The trap has great build quality and weight, and better accuracy than anything mass produced yet... but it is underwhelming otherwise. The trap sequence is very 'meh'. Most sounds are too quiet, except the 'ghost trapped' beep.. which is about 3 levels higher.. so if we replace the speaker with something better, that beeping might blow the speaker. The pedal feels like cheap plastic, though I admit it's probably only because the trap itself feels so much more solid. Worse, and the only 'deal breaker' that ensures I will replace the guts if they make new innards like GPstar or whatever, is the constant 'ghost mode'. It is advertised as having a 'no ghost mode', but it doesn't. The random ghost noises are continual. Every 2 mins or so. If you trapped a ghost or not. It just keeps going off. I hate it. It feels gimmicky, and immediately broadcasts that this is just a TOY. There should be a way to turn that off, and just have a nice, gently hummign trap when, say, explaining how it works to kids. The random sounds will smother the fantasy there immediately. And the holster! No toy has been built that solid since the old steel tonka trucks that we used to ram into rocks, and walls, and each other as kids.. this thing could be used to hammer nails! All in all, I don't feel ripped off... but man, that random ghost sounds thing is infuriating.
@sckmagic7Ай бұрын
It absolutely does have a no ghost mode. It is the 3rd switch on the front.
@NewMessageАй бұрын

Can you talk a little bit about how you handled the rubber O-rings when attaching the plastic tube? In my kit they seem way too big to fit inside the holes with the silver screws in place. On my first attempt at attaching them, I ended up slicing two of the rings in the process. I assume the O-rings are meant to be shock absorbers and help reduce the play between the plastic and aluminum tubes, but I can't make sense of how they're supposed to interface with each other.

The older straps have 1 snap on a strap"lc-1". There's one snap button on each shoulder strap"lc-2". It took a while for me to realize, first the black double prong neatly fits the snap button. Next step keep the snap button and prong together as you slide them under the black metal bar. last step, the black double prong and the snap gently and neatly slides under the bar ready to be connected. I figured this out somewhere in the late eighties, so whenever I see the snap button connected over the black bar I chuckle a bit.
