I've only had it two days, but I've done a few mods so far. I took out the power cell lights diffuser, and added a piece of an old lcd screen to darken it, and add little 'screen lines' to the lights when seen close up. Then I added the lenticular screen layers from the same old lcd to the cyclotron lights, and oriented them so the 'three led' look is blurred into a streak of red that looks almost exactly like the screen used effect. I put on real hose clamps, electrical tape, and used a gold sharpie on the rubber bits that should be brass, and messed them up with a dark wood stain marker. Looks like old, tarnished brass for sure now. Haven't even started weathering it yet, let alone doing the more obviously needed mods like the ribbon cable and the flex pet cable... but they're up next! Oh, and for folks who hate the 'moo'... mine 'mooed' pretty bad at first, but when I opened it all up, i found some screws that weren't as tight as they could be, and after tightening them all down well and tight, the 'moo' is greatly reduced. Some of it must have been internal parts vibrating more that they should. Anyway.. can't wait to see what you do with it!

Mine is finally arriving tomorrow after the adventure us backers have been put through with the shipping. I’m glad yours got there safe and sound and thank you for bringing up the point of getting only 1 shot at modding it. It’s been one thing on my mind and I’m glad to see someone else thinking the same thing

A really great review and, as an owner of custom built packs and now a Haslab pack, I have to agree with everything you said. I genuinely think it’s fantastic value and am so glad I have one. I obviously wouldn’t want to see people be ripped off for their hard-earned money, but I’d actually say that if you see one selling second hand for something in the region of $700 or even at a push $800 and you’re someone who maybe doesn’t have the time or confidence to build your own, this is something that you’d likely be very happy with. As a total aside, I have to say, there’s always a really good feel-good vibe with your videos. They really are a pleasure to watch. Keep them coming.

Thank you for pointing out the real value of this Haslab. When they first announced it, I could not believe Hasbro was offering it at that price and jumped at the chance. People complaining about the wand not being included or that it was still too pricey annoyed me and made me sad for anytime the GB Hasbro team may have saw those types of comments. They went FAR above and beyond on this IMO and the kid in me who had one of the original animated series packs will be forever grateful for the chance to own one of these.

I am from Germany and mine arrived at the 24th of December and my first mod was to install an Alice LC1 frame. So I am in modding already. But I've seen a few unboxing and reviews now and Iwant to thank you for your very good review. And what I really like is that you point out how much love there is in the details and that you show how much a frame and a few parts cost when you want to build it yourselfe compared to the awesome play ready Pack from HasLap. I think you and Adam Savage nailed it.

I always knew my haslab pack was great for the price but I didn't realize how much value was packed into it until I watched this and saw your comparison to building your own. Thanks for the quick review and modding advice!

Hands down, this is the best bang for your buck proton pack. I'm also starting a Mack's Factory proton pack build, but that's going to be a years long project. I do plan to paint my Hasbro pack and modify the light pattern for '84 mode, as well as some other customizations.

This pack is my 1st one ever and I love it. I'm going to keep it the way it is and if I was good at building things I would have built one a long time ago, one day I will just spend the 3,000 or whatever it cost to get a 84 pack I still want one of those, your video was great and can't wait to see more from you.

This is my first real deal full scale Pack. If not for Haslab I would never have been able to own one. The packs that people make and sell all look amazing, but the pricing of those packs were never in my budget. So verry happy to see it every time I go into my room.

I missed the crowdfunding campaign but I ordered one through a guy on eBay for a reasonable price. I'm really hoping it comes through here in the next couple weeks as I'm incredibly excited to finally have this in front of me. I've wanted a proton pack since the mid-80's and was looking into having one built over the past few years but was scared off by the price tag. Even at a bit of "2nd hand mark up", the value on this thing is still amazing, considering what I'd have to pay for the alternatives. I'm not planning to do much modding to my pack. I'll attach an ALICE frame, swap out the v-hook and maybe do a few paint touch-ups but otherwise I'm happy with it as-is. What a great time to be a Ghostbusters fan.

When I first ordered the pack, my plan was to do an 84 swap but after watching Afterlife a few dozen times with my nephew the Afterlife Pack grew on me. Now it makes the 84 packs seem kind of boring to my eyes. I love that the Afterlife pack is being held together with random shit Egon purchased at one of the very last Radio Shack locations.

I got mine last week, and it's everything I hoped for. And I have to say, with all the weathering and detailing that Hasbro did, even "real" replica packs seem a little lacking and toy-looking when next to it. As a matter of sheer experience, it just feels like the real deal. Some very minor tweaks will really send it over the top and I don't see ever feeling the need for another pack.

Congrats i'm happy you got one but heres just my opinion i know some people wont undestand or agree but i think hasbro should have just made the whole thing! instand of just the gun and then later the back which people had to back the project. if hasbro would have not only did the funding back the pack or whatever it was called. but after that mass produce them and sold them in stores with gun & pack and frame which I KNOW WAS NOT INCLUDED! i think it would have been better. it was 400 for the pack! about 100 for the gun. and 50 bucks or a frame. 550 i think would have been a fair price for everything. besides that one rope i think it looks fine the way it is! i dont know why someone would want to mod this i saw one on FB that they weatherd. and they gave it more scratches the thing looked like shit! why destory a beautiful peice or art theres never going to be another pack like this again. and i can see in 10 years a haslab pack selling for over 50k in a 3rd online market.
