Pretty nice that you got all that noise reduction with just one package. I went a bit crazy and did an entire vehicle with this and other types of thicker CLD, then closed cell foam and mass loaded vinyl. Then got a hold of some Fibermat 45 to fill spaces and stop panel rattling. If you don't compress it much, it also absorbs sound to 200 hz. I spent 2k all in all, added 150 lbs to the weight of the vehicle, but it's basically a spaceship now😂. Only took a few weeks of work but was totally worth it. I'm in that car far too often, and it's now a dream.

😂Oh wow , thank you so much. 😂😂 I have been looking all over for this information how/ where electrical connect inside was. Not in maintence manual. Maybe that"s why it looks like never been changed . And never passed a smog test without cheating somehow. And why I got such a good deal used @180,000 miles.... because previous owner couldn't figure out why the engine light was always on. Information is rare for a rare engine the 2003 matrix XRS 2 ZZ engine. I hope this is the fix for better mileage and performance. I hope I hope. Thank you.🎉❤ Any suggestions for new tires?

@courtneyanderson3108 Ай бұрын
@@ricardog4459 I think that it sounds very good, but much depends on what you want out of a subwoofer. I think it's the best low to medium volume subwoofer that I have used. It adds bass without being too overpowering and seems pretty well balanced (likely due to the amp and subwoofer being made for each other). It also doesn't draw too many amps so it won't stress your alternator or battery much. However, if you want super deep, super loud or bass you can feel, it probably isn't right for you.

@courtneyanderson3108
@courtneyanderson3108 Ай бұрын
Personally, I think I would just start with one, but I suggest pulling a power cable large enough to run two just in case you want to add a second one later without pulling a new power cable all the way from the battery. You'll want to check a chart like the one in this article: www.crutchfield.com/learn/learningcenter/car/cable_gauge_chart.html . Since this amp draws only 125W RMS, an 8 gauge power cable would likely be able to run two of them unless the cable is very long.

amazing demonstration for the audio with and without Honestly for anyone NOT an audiphile or with too much money, sound deadening the doors with vibro (the butyl mats) and some foam liner on the door trim ehances the audio system very well, turn it into something much more expensive sounding, and even if you change them with something better, you don't need to spend too much to get great sound while not going crazy in price

In the end I used the 2006 model metal thermostat housing, 2006 thermostat (they were different) and 2006 model gasket. I did not use the 2006 torque specs (21 ft lb) because they were for a much larger thread diameter and I definitely didn't want to strip out the 6mm x 1.0 threads in the aluminum on the engine side. I was unable to find the torque spec for 2009 model so cut the 2006 value in half to 10 ft lb which seemed to work.

I think that just doing the surface goes a long way. I've heard that placing a few pieces spaced around the inside can be quite effective without having to cover the whole thing. Obviously it can be tricky to reach in there, plus I had to do a lot of scrubbing on the bottom few inches to get the adhesive to stick. I might not put as much time into getting nearly complete coverage inside the door next time.

I still think they sound a lot better than the stock speakers. They give a small amount of bass, but the JBL GTO 6x9's that I installed in the rear definitely have a lot more bass. I went with 6.5" because the Crutchfield site recommended them as a fit. For some reason they didn't recommend any 6x9's though I'm guessing some 6x9 speakers will fit without interfering with the windows, but I can't confirm that from experience.

If you are unsure if your car is an XRS which is the only model this video applies to, here are some characteristics unique to this model: It has an XRS badge on the left side of the hatch (Not XR) It has a 6 speed manual transmission (* in 2003 only a few XRS models had automatic transmissions) It requires premium gasoline Tachometer redline is slightly above 8000 rpm. If your car does not have these characteristics then this video is probably not the right one for you.

I did a Honda pilot about a year ago. My hatch was mostly empty and free of moving parts. I installed deadened inside the hatch and inside the panel, but in the center I used an egg crate foam to fill the cavity. I used egg crate and good stuff spray foam in areas too hard to reach. This especially helped in and around the wheel wells. I used a thicker deadener in the floors, and I had the vehicle undercoated. It’s my wife’s car and I hated the road noise it had. A trip to Disney listening to it made me want to sound proof it. It’s amazingly quiet now. I swapped out all the speakers for higher quality and added a powered sub just to round it out. I think all told I spent $250 on sound deadening and about $400 on new speakers. It was worth all the work! Thanks for the video
@juqual78
@juqual78 2 күн бұрын
Just be careful of the egg crate stuff getting moldy. I live in a humid area and open cell foam while amazing at eating sound, gets moldy, and falls apart fast. I had no choice but to go with a hydrophobic sound absorber due to the humidity here. The good stuff I bet will, however, last decades 😂

I did the doors on my 2006 matrix with Amazon basics sound deadining and was very pleased. I also did front and rear floorboards but the greatest noise reduction was achieved by deadening the rear hatch door, internal and panel area of sides of hatch area and spare tire area along with under rear seats.
