The biggest problem today in all guitars is sharp frets. I couldn't believe it myself. I sent two guitars back from Jackson and a Recording King acoustic. Both had unfinished frets so sharp that after playing the guitar, bits of skin were coming off my fingers. I cannot believe that they don't polish the frets anymore. In essence, they ship guitars that are not playable today. I would never order a guitar online again till this whole thing is settled.

I own a 1992 Thumb NT 4. Absolutely love it - it's a beauty! Bought it about 10 years ago, drove more than an hour to Munich to pick it up. The first owner died and his widow sold it on ebay.

I agree with everything you said. The whole guitar industry is FUBAR right now. The only thing i disagree with you on is when you said "if we stop buying them, theyll get the picture" something along those lines. The truth is, they wont. What will happen is the company will get a private equity firm to completely run what is left of the company into the ground, destroying it completely and then making away like bandits. I own one of these, which I bought on impulse after a Jack Bruce concert I attended. Great looking & sounding bass but heavy, horrible neck dive, neck profile is like a baseball bat. I sincerely with I could love to play it some day, almost 20 years later it still collecting dust in the gig bag.

the pick up positions and angles on your bass look different from the other warwick thumbs ive seen but love the ryan martinie appreciation at 4:40. My favourite bassist just from his playing on L.D.50 with the signature warwick growl sound

I called Gibson about paint peeling on a Studio I got 8 months ago. I felt like I was talking to a pot head . "Just play it". He says we don't warranty paint. Very disappointed it is peeling for what it cost.

I take exception to your title, Gibson is no more sloppy in their quality control than any other guitar manufacturer - far from it! Name another company that has such a sweeping warranty. You can't, because others aren't as good. My 2024 Les Paul is 100% defect free....and if it wasn't they'd make it right. And if anything goes wrong under the gold star warranty, it would be fixed. In the past there might have been problems, but that's over.

I have an ESP e2m2 with original floyd and god dammnit it keeps popping the high E string at the locking nut, not on the bridge.I am soo fucking done with this guitar.$2600 smackers and i cant even enjoy it nor unlock the locker or it snaps.Any info is appreciated.

The big mistake of the floyd rose is that tightening block. The drilled hole on the back side is on the bottom of the block. Why did they not make the hole in the middle of the block so the force is dispersed evenly? I would advise anyone to slightly put the string down in there some underneath the block. Because when you tighten the locking bolt/screw... by its own force it will squish and hold securely. This is a huge floyd rose flaw!!

Exactly the issue I'm having on my jackson Adrian Smith strat. Frustrating! Had to use needle file to gently try and smooth that face surface. And... why does it look like a 'v' groove in them? Wtf!! So pissed. Has to swap same hight saddle from other strings. Wound strings have enough to grab securely but the small string slips out.

How does it play?.... if you are an actual player these small imperfections are not a big deal, in fact, you will eventually add character spots and blemishes to the instrument with normal playing. Is it an art piece or an instrument meant to be played? Just remind yourself why you selected the guitar in the first place and you will likely keep it. BTW It looks amazing!

Jackson guitars from the late 1980's that where made while Grover still built them where simply the finest electric guitars ever made. Bar none. Not anymore...but as a custom builder myself ...some of there cheap models are excellent as far as quality control goes...some are hot garbage.

Wow! I have 2 Charvel So cal style 2 Pro Mod, and they do not have these flaws. I'll stick with the Ibanez RG550 Genesis over a Jackson soloist or dinky!
