Maybe in 30 more years you will discover carbon clear that you use in fermentation that cleans the turbo up and it’s crystal clear And boo yah you have it

So, recently, a fellow in South Africa has created a table top continuous still. Two, actually. The MyVodkaMaker mini and the MyVodkaMaker Plus. The MVM mini will only distill either water or vodka. The MVM+ can distill water, vodka or whiskey because ti has temperature controls for the heads and for the hearts. Being a continuous still, it can distill any quantity of liquid. It is small but seemingly powerful. The guy who builds them hasn't fully disclosed the inner workings but I'm guessing it is a compact pot still with various PID controlled points, which can be manipulated in the software (which are lacking in the mini). It would be great if someone were to break it down in theory and in practice at some point. The designer provides some good info in the online PDF but....

My guess would be, the sacrificial run is to do with the possibility of people using old copper hardware with remnants of lead solder present. I'm guessing the first run leaches out the lead on the exposed surface, leaving less possibility of contamination on subsequent runs. But really, who would be that careless and cheap. My guess would be 44%😢

Question... if you're only trying to get 8 to 12 percent. Why are you using distiller yeast? Normal yeast takes 2weeks but you're saying that you'll wait out distiller yeast anyways for 2weeks.

A lot of these stills have valves to vent methanol as vapor. I personally don't like doing it that way, especially if you are using flame heat source. Not the safest way. Methanol vapor is beyond flammable.

George, from your comment of industry standard being 8-11%, how do they achieve this? Are they doing it from fermenting corn only? I do not see them adding syrup or sugar, so how can they achieve that high numbers? Thank you

Very informative. Using the controller on a commerial oven. Works fine for the first few hours of our baking cycle. When we switch on the oven again for the second cycle for some reason the oven doesnt fire up. However after leaving it off for the rest of the day and night, the next morning it works fine again until we are ready for the next cycle when it doesn't fire up. Is there a setting that tells the controller to shut off after a certain time period? Would really appreciate your insight.

Hev George. My name is David. I used to live in Springfield Oregon, and a few years ago you built me a PID controller for my Duel 4500 watt still. Since then I have moved to Las Vegas, and the house I live in has a hot water heater out back that I thought would be a good place to connect to, but it is hooked up weird and does not produce hot water like it should. I just want to thank you for this video because it is going to help a lot. If I run into any problems I would like to email you if possible. Thank you again.

I think I'm having a problem with my inkbird pid unit. I wired it correctly, installed it in my electric smoker, set the parameters as you described. At first it seemed to be working great. I set the temp at 120, It came up to temp and held there within a couple degrees plus minus. I placed my summer sausage in the smoker for an hr, turned the set temp up to 160 and it never read above 130 actual temp, but the sausage came up to 160?? Do I need to calibrate the thermocouple? Please help!

I've stripped down a PRIMO water cooler to the bare metal, ditched the hot side. Can't get the can out of the cooling coils without TIN SNIPS but it's sheet metal. All I gotta do is get the cooling coils connected to my PC Chassis. Thermostat on it to stop it from freezing or condensing.

Just purchased this incredible still which is almost identical from my local shop (kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnfbeaeqZtudhKs). Going to be a treat running a bourbon wash through it like you are. Thanks for these videos, they really help understand the process and develop our own techniques. Find myself thinking about the details when I'm brewing and having eureka moments.

Question, would this be the same if using a reflux till? I always run full reflux at around 85c for about 1/2 a hour before drawing any product. My thinking is the first 2 ounces would contain äbout a full spectrum of all the alcohol's not just methanol.

You seem to know more about heating elements than anybody I've found on KZbin so far. I was wondering if you know of any heating elements made in the US? Nothing against the ones made in other countries, just wondering, really.

I have a two element system. The way I understand that the two elements don’t actually work at the same time. The upper heats first then switches power to lower element then will switch back and forth with upper element till temperature is satisfied. I have a 30 amp 240 v circuit. The elements have been replaced by previous owner and he has 4500w elements in upper and lower. Is this safe?

Hello Everyone. I have made 2 sugar washes and last week I made a rum wash. This morning I started another sugar wash run, but it was coming out blue. I am really confused why it would be blue. I use a stainless steel pot, but I do have a Cooper worm. Any help would be grateful, thank you.

We have a Mile High Still 50gal with 6 4 inch collectors. I would like to convert or build a PID controller for the duel 5500 watt elements. Do you advise this on this type of still or keep the controller and just manage it manually? We use a PID we built on an 18 gallon still and really enjoy the quality of the output. Thank you for all you share and teach.

Ive been filtering turbo yeast through those silly carbon teabags and it doesnt seem to do much. I crushed the carbon teabags in to smaller grains with pliers -still nothing, and I got a Brita filter jug now too. I think its just that yucky turbo yeast ruining the taste, can I ever remove it without fermenting in their carbon and all that extra$ will tomato paste remove or reduce turbo yeast taste (I have a lot to use up before I change yeasts). Thank you Sir for your time and wisdom.

Hey George, If I combine 4.5 gal. of apple juice with 4 lbs. of brown sugar, heat to blend, rest it, and through some yeast. Take a gravity reading, let it work for 7-10 days. Should it work? I'd rather us fresh, unpasteurized , cider, but it's out of season. Thanks, great show
