What is ironic is that many of the people have to give up hobbies, building relationships, etc. to work longer hours, move to a new location for a promotion, etc. in order to retire early, but FIRE is promoted as a way to have more time for hobbies and relationships.

But isn't paying your mortgage a sure thing?.. Investing includes assumptions..
@OneBigHappyLife
@OneBigHappyLife 12 күн бұрын
Paying off your mortgage reduces your debt, but how will you build wealth? How will you amass the financial resources you need to support yourself if and when you need to stop working? That's the bigger risk--your money running out.

Gurlllll...hmmm...you have spoken about so many things in your life that resonate with me. The kids and the lack of closeness with your family. It is also liberating when you accept what is and let go of what not is. It truly lifts that burden off of your shoulders when you do that. Forties is truly an eye opener. Wisdom is real at this age for most. Wishing you all the best for yoru next year around the sun. Health and strength. Blessings to you and your family 😊

😮 Calls me out for: 1 Putting things in my calendar and not doing them. 2 Staying up late working instead of resting. 3 Spending on Door Dash instead of saving. Ma’am. Please stop telling the world my business! 😲🥹 😂 But seriously, great content as always!

I have the same issue with Google Calendar... I use TIckTick for the same reason (had never heard of Morgan). I strongly believe to-do lists should be scheduled on calendars so we can keep it real about what we can ACTUALLY get done in a day.

To check off tasks (or even appointments) directly in my Google Calendar, I simply edit the Title with a ✅ emoji at the front. However, their functionality has shifted over time, and some features that I really liked became less functional. Thanks for letting me see your organization method. I love how everything integrates.

It’s so interesting that I can relate so much to your story but my path went in the opposite direction. After 6 years of running my own business with a partner, I’ve sold the business and gone back to being a W2 40 hour a week employee. It’s honestly done wonders for my health and happiness. Just goes to show we are all looking for happiness and contentment but can find it in differing ways.

I feel so much pressure but I just feel like I haven’t found my place but I can’t afford to move again. This is the longest I’ve lived in one place (18 months) after moving 14 times in the last 12 years. And I’m still so unhappy because this place is so polluted and nasty! I’m trying with climate activism to fix this place, but I can’t make friends and have zero local support system :(:(:(

I always find it so helpful to see how people plan their weeks! As someone who benefits from incorporating paper planning, I did stumble across a system for my personal gmail calendar that works great with my ADHD/energy, and it has been a huge improvement in planning and getting things done. My work calendar is limited by my company's use of Microsoft Office so personalization is limited, but I always schedule a dedicated time block every Friday to review what I've done and what I have coming up. It really does help!
