Looking from a distance, I'd have just bought a $500~$600 Zenith or Philco Stereophonic console record player off of Ebay or maybe a nearby antique store. Being strewn on the "vintage-style" table like that, it looks likes a vintage console record player, but with its heart and kidneys pulled outside the body! lol

Should really have some isolating foam under those speakers or even better move them off the same surface as the turntable entirely and set them on stands. You should never have speakers on the same surface as the turntable.

In my option you can find a really good Sony receiver from the 90s for cheap, and use the Klipsch r51m instead of the powered one, this allows you for an easy upgrade, you can also listen to the radio or hook a cd player. And since there is nothing that could go wrong in a passive speaker, it holds a higher resale value. Think about it!!

I had r51pm but returned it for the passive ones, also look for a used technics turntable, they sell cheap but ads a little character to your setup

Your sound would benefit by placing the speakers on a different surface than the turntable.

@operationseekingtruth I added a cheap 150 usd Dayton sub1000 and even though many reviews say it's only ok , wow for my setup and room it elevated the sound game by 500%. It's a must in my opinion. If you have around 500us ld to spend on a sub go for the SVS SB1000 pro or the RSL 10S they are top value and quality.

The speakers have a lot of capabilities..along with the phono board it has a DAC that accepts a wide range of digital inputs (cd ,streamer) along with BT …. They also have a sub out for adding a subwoofer.

They use a particle accelerator in the manufacturing process of the woofers. Pretty crazy level of engineering involved in these speakers.

I got one just today... Plastic parts are sticky for some reason. I'm using it to send signal from Spotify (which I run on my PC) to my receiver and I notice that volume knob on Sender unit doesn't work. I'm not sure if it's because the knob is faulty or my set up is the cause ! Any help ?

Fun fact about KEF: It stands for "Kent Engineering and Foundry" because the guys who started the company were doing it on company property and time without telling anyone. But it's pronounced as a word and not an initialism, so "Keff."

Save yourself 3 or 4 hundred grand and go with the PBN Audio MR!777 speakers. The PBNs are lesser known but are a much, much better value than the upper end Borresens.
