I would add that even if the fill hose comes out of the top of the flush valve, it will continue to fill the tank, and the float ball will also rise and proceed to shut off the water from the fill valve when it reaches its proper height. I don't see how this would cause an issue, as long as the hose does not squirt water out of the tank.

A sincere question: Why not snake the drain after pulling out the horizontal rod? Isn't that quicker/easier?

That design f/ the water supply & flush valve nuts area are a bugger! Bad on Kohler.

Honestly the best, most helpful video - even in 2024! I have a similar model with the same parts/setup and I found this video randomly. It's all accurate, from parts, ease to replace, and what to look out for in the process. All in all it took me about 30 minutes and my - older - dishwasher doesn't squeal at all anymore. So you only hand tighten the nuts on the bottom when securing the tank to the bowl? Yeesh, I way over tightened... no wonder I have a leak.

I used mine yesterday, and it definitely works, but after driving for 25 minutes to charge up the battery, then leaving it overnight, the car won't start again today. Time for a new battery?

Love this video but why you put two notes on the toilet bowl when you are screwing it down that will make the ball to crack too much nuts on it it just need one nut and washer to tighten it on the back

Hi! My Mansfield keep losing about an inch of water behind the bowl… what could be causing this? It fills to the right level when flushed, but I can hear it losing water and It doesn’t appear to be draining into the toilet bowl.

It worked on my grand highlander and Lexus nx 350 2024 but with the 30 second method. The description was so helpful tnx a lot ! 🙂

How to know what replacement part to buy ?

Only issue is some instructions say to put bolt, rubber washer, then rubber washer, metal washer, nut under tank then finally metal washer, nut. Gives extra protection for water leaks from tank. wish my kit came with extra rubber washers for extra protection.

The original hexnut is completely different from the one that comes with the replacement. The toilet gasket is supposed to fit over the hexnut and the tank is then lowered into the toilet. The gasket is NOT to be placed onto the toilet and the tank lowered onto it. It is impossible to fit the gasket over the new hexnut since the new hexnut is not circular like the original. You MUST use the original hexnut and fit the new gasket over it. Otherwise, when the toilet is flushed, you'll get water coming out from under the tank. As you may have noticed, Kris reused the original hexnut without explanation.

Did you have an issue with the tank wobbling as it sits atop that giant tank-to-bowl gasket?

Can you not just replace the broken cap?

Tip, flip those channel locks so they tighten as you turn

I received a rebuild kit from Mansfield but no instructions just the parts. The replacement was on spot with your video and got no leaks when finished🚽

The jumpstart button blinks but then shuts off. Ideas? Is the battery ok but something else bad?

My drain instantly clogged when an open bag of loose leaf tea fell into the sink and I thought it could easily be flushed down the disposal. The hex key method and plunger method didn’t unclog my drain, so I was thinking that I was going to have to call a plumber. But then I came across your video! After following your steps, I had my drain unclogged in less than a half hour, start to finish. All the credit goes to you!! I can’t imagine how much money I saved from calling a plumber when this was such a simple process. Thank you again, and keep up the great work!

Found your video which helped me figure out how to fix my same problem. I bought the part from amzn. The part arrived in a couple of days and before I could swap it we ran the dishwasher again which didn't whistle. I ran it a couple more times with no whistle before putting the part up and will replace if it ever whistles again. My guess is that while investigating I moved the flexible metal clad hose under the washer several times which may have cleared some blockage (just a guess at this point). Appreciate your video greatly though.
