Saw Mike at the Diamond Jubilee TT in '67 , he broke the lap record on a Honda that handled like a camel at 108-77 mph . For me Mike was GOAT . 🇬🇧

Having seen all the greats from 1963 through to the modern day, I can say with my hand upon my heart that I have not seen another rider that was even close to him in terms of natural skill. He was a grade up from genius. I know that the machinery under you makes a massive difference to how well you race. But to Hailwood it didn't seem to matter. I recall one year before either the 350 or 500 race at the TT, his chosen bike wouldn't start. Some guy who had qualified around 25th offered Mike his 'second' bike. Mike borrowed the guy's second bike, a Manx Norton, and led the race, broke the lap record and then blew the bike up so he didn't finish. I cannot imagine Rossi, Roberts or even Doohan etc riding the reserve bike of a guy that qualified 25th and leading the race on it. RIP Mike...you gave me immense joy watching you race over all those years.

Nicky had 5 years on a Ducati. He was far from unbeatable in Moto GP with a total of only 3 wins over 14 years. He is one of only a few riders to win a Moto GP and a World Superbike race. If the bikes had stayed at 990cc with no electronics I think he would have won a few more races on the Honda.

I’ve known Freddie since he was 13. He rode at our track OHR until he went pro. I always loved watching him ride. He tested and tuned at our track for many years even in a go-kart trying to rehab his injured wrist. I just wondered what could have been without the injury. Freddie was a remarkable talent and I’m glad to call him a friend.

Of course he was better than Rossi - Hailwood was better than anybody. I've seen all the best riders since 1962 and only one had his ability - Hailwood.

Hailwood is in a different league to Rossi. If Rossi makes a comeback after 10 years and WINS a MotoGP Race then, and only then, can the discussion begin (particularly as Rossi wont even race at the IOM TT)

Roberts senior,s achievement,s on track were matched by his achievements off the track. His contributions to rider safety & remuneration are unparalleled. He made the FIM sit up & listen. And listen they did! So to my mind. Kenny Roberts senior is the most influential GP rider. A true Champion on & off the track.

For him to get back on a 500 after those Dutch butchers in hospital stuffed his leg in 92 it showed how just tough as teak he was ,then to win 5 in a row an Australian legend all glory to him.

What planet do you live on arrogant w***er he was leading by 65 points in 92 shattered his leg butchered by Dutch medical staff an still rode in the last round to try to win the championship, even Wayne Gardner said he couldn’t believe how he did it with a leg that looked like cooked meat. One more place higher an he would of won that years title,so stuff you try learning the truth.
