Luca Marini ---- it was like a GAME in the BEGINNING, but he’s very serious now about his racing career. But the big talk was, he would have a new bike for the 2022 season…which we are now in, and the fans were not happy about it, because Enea Bastianini wouldn’t have one. It was plain to see that Enea was the only rider from the VR46 team who had made it to the podium and even had more points than Luca Marini…hence the reason why there was tension in the camp.
Luca’s half brother Valentino Rossi has given some of the best performances in motorcycle racing with an impressive seven World championships in the premier class. When he left the competition, all eyes were on Luca Marini and they wanted him to fill his shoes…no pressure HEY! Luca had something to say about it, as we’ll discuss that later in the video. The pressure was high, and the fans were more anxious than ever. Surprisingly, Luca was not all that bothered by the pressure. He may not be at the same level as Rossi, but there is always room for improvement.
With all that is riding on Luca's back, one question remains. Is he ready to take Valentino Rossi's place? And why was he getting a new bike and not Enea Bastianini? Hmmm!!
Luca's quote! "Luca Marini ---- it was like a GAME in the BEGINNING." might have been taken lightly by him in the beginning, but it's sure not the way he thinks about his MotoGP career today. He's very serious and wants to show what he's made of!
Luca Marini first tasted the Moto3 World Championship at the San Marino Grand Prix in 2013. His wildcard was the Rimini Riviera Grand Prix, but he did not complete the race because of an accident.

FYI Enea Bastianini was never in the VR46 academy but always been managed by Carlo Pernat. I will still watch the video until the end even if it starts with a mistake. Marini highside was in Le Mans and not in Aragon...

Correct, Pernat still has a lot of influence in MotoGP, Carmelo Espeleta (Viegas is innocuous and I'm Portuguese also, but he's just a puppet...) and in all the system & factories, mainly Ducati...

Hi Andrea - yea you're right Enea never was with VR46...and we know this, but wasn't checked properly 😮😮 Yes he did have a highside in the French GP, and footage was used showing a highside for Effect...but he also had a highside at Aragon too...although we couldn't find footage, takes some going through to find things, but sometimes we have to substitute. I hope fans get it though with the VO pointing out it was indeed Aragon at that point. Thanks for your comment! 🏍🏍👍👍

I don't think anyone can replace Valentino. I think luca can get a few podiums in his career but not much more. I don't have the hype for him really. Although i would like to see him succeed

It's funny how opinions can differ in our sport haha. Since the very beginning of his MotoGP-journey, and especially since he is doing well in the last few races, I am very enthousiastic about him. Marini is one of the boys who needs some time to develop, and I think his constant top 10 finishes are just the beginning. Will he match Vale? I don't think so. Will he be World Champion one day? Difficult to say at this point. But following his Journey to becoming a top-rider is really really joyful atm and I expect him to become better and better the following years.

@@Th3Dutch4n I believe he'll get better. As you say, anyone finishing in the top 10 shows really good potential...that's not easy to do consistently in MotoGP.

Hi what Andrea losi said is 100% accurate, he was approached to join but decided against it. However you are correct as teams mate in 2021 as part of the avintia team, luca’s bike was sponsored by Sky VR46. FYI Bagnaia, morbidelli, bezechi and marini are all part of the vr46 academy.

I here one of Luca's debrief. I believe he is a legit MotoGP rider. He is so methodical with the way he works, more like Pedrosa. Yah, he takes time but it shows. He & Alex Marquez more like the same.

I know Mikos - couldn't find a clip of him at aragon, but I hope people get the idea the clip was used for E-F-F-E-C-T and the voice over pointed out it was indeed Aragon he fell off! The amount of editing these videos take is a serious amount of time and we try our best to get them as close to perfect as possible, but sometimes we need to fill in any gaps with the closest footage possible.

No one can fill VR's shoes, but what he can do is fill his own shoes and make his own legacy. Now, if he and his teammate can keep Marquez off the podium for a few seasons they might be able to protect Rossi's Championship edge, but that seems like a silly thing to ride for. So long as he continues to ride for himself Rossi's little brother will get out of his shadow just fine. Riders like Rossie, Binder, and Marquez only come around every few years and trying to match what they are is just not a smart idea.

@@lamithperera8760 individuals?? A.M. he never did anything on his own except fall. I don't mean he's not capable, he's a decent driver, but he never deserved his 2 titles. He was the least deserving of the 4 contenders for the Moto3 title that year. A Spanish driver who knocked out an Italian driver was his accomplice. Other things too. In 2019, after 5 years of rolling in gravel, with the advent of Triumph his side of his Spanish team (who could no longer bear to have him) was the only one in the entire paddock who knew how to make the tires work, who knows why! Completely forgotten skills the following year... It's ridiculous... those who have followed the championships know the truth and know who the honest drivers are. The Marquezes (all of them starting with their parents) have no idea what honesty is. They only think about making numbers and their every gesture, choice, or word has always been going in this direction. I would also have something to say about M.M, because it is easy to say that he was the first rookie to win without saying that he was the first (and only) rookie to have a factory team bike (moreover Honda, biggest and most powerful manufacturer of the world). Furthermore, he has never had more than one rival (or at most two) in any year. But forget it... he always has excuses.
