My issue is not what currently happened because I know wizards with printing busted cards to sell sets (i.e. fierce guardianship). With Rick I understand that its not that great but even that being worth 30 with its minimal play shows what can happen. They addressed this by saying that they will reprint it in the list not is an actually set meaning that it will not reach demand on the position. But i have liked the resent secret lairs. I dont like how they announce uro banning in one line of a secret lair announcement. It seemed kind of scummy, luckily a lot of people talked about it

@@patchworkcommander4995 Well as far as bannings go in general their entire new policy is shady af. In the past their policy was more geared towards taking their time and testing so that newer sets were well balanced. My entire standard playing career which Id say was something like Masques block though maybe Zendikar only ever saw a handful of cards banned. Now they are putting out so many sets so fast that they honestly dont have the time to test like they used to and whats worse they are just pushing powercreep farther and faster then ever before. Part of it is because of the fall of standard as a popular format which Id actually argue is a symptom not the cause. I personally quit playing standard just because of the sheer cost of it. For years even chase rares in sets would never be worth more then say...25$ at the very most. Sure some foils were but foils were few and far between. Then after they introduced Mythic Rarity that all went out the window. Suddenly 50$ and up cards are the norm. I remember when M12 was released, on the day of its release I think I bought 4 boxes and still ended up returning to my LGS and spent like 250 more on singles....and I didnt even have playsets of everything I needed. That was the last set I ever bought more a box or two of. Now I play commander...buy a few foils I want every set along with the occasional box and call it a day.

@@XxRupturexX When I just start in magic I thought standard was the best because of deck prices. Once I started dealing with rotation my mindset changed. That's when I start to become a commander player probably the time of the first precons or before then. I think cards price are ridiculous even ones just for commander but inflation is a thing too. Plus, the pandemic demand, I think that is a big crux of standard is the cost. But I loved it since I love deck building. Even to this day we see it with MTG Arena that it becomes really expensive to keep up

@@patchworkcommander4995 Yeah when you first start standard is the cheapest but over time that quickly changes. That and the blatant power creep in the past few years is one of the many reasons why standard popularity is waning. There are things they could do to fix it...but under their current business model that isnt going to happen. I mean...sets arent even a week old and we are already privy to half of the next sets contents. They honestly just dont have the time to test the format like they used to. And the issue with that is that was one of standards big appeals. You never had to deal with busted mechanics/cards for all that long. Now with every set trying to outdo the set before it so we all buy it cards get pushed through that never should have been printed....all in the name of selling more product. Personally I think they should go back to the old model more they release like 3-4 standard sets per year and have all of the rest of their product focus on other formats. That way they can actually test some of the stuff out and maybe we wont be banning cards every few weeks like they have been.

Actually one of my freinds did the same. He just got a new job and wanted to treat himself and that's what he got. I cant wait to face it myself because it seems like a ton of fun. Cards with will of the council are great for that kind of deck. What kind of cards did you add?

The thing is wizards doesnt allow them in sanctioned event therefore stores can get into trouble doing so. Something I think that is really weird since they are all wizard products. The same material art everything, clearly these cards have actual value since people are paid up to 150 for these cards. I think they are a fine pick up because as long as the rl is not being reprinted these have more value

That's the cool part of these cards is they clearly have value. When people tell me these are just proxies, how can a proxy be worth 150 dollars. I think these are great replacements

Back at it again.

There are certain cards that I always think are worth splurging on. Synergy is amplified by the powerful cards. Like bad cards that have good synergy with the deck but the game doesnt go as expected just can slow down the game. But powerful cards like the dusk rose just are good and become great when accounting for synergy. I appreciate it, have you checked out any of the other guides?

Sorry, for the late response. That's an interesting idea, I have one question for you. How many other way do you have of searching for artifacts to search for expedition map? Because if you add some tutors like golbin engineer it will be a worth while include. I think since its a two color the cost is not that high. My worry is just I dont think they will be that good if you only have expedition map. Also, I like the videos. How can you manage so many pets?

Those are all great includes. If you are thinking along those lines mesmeric orb and basalt monolith is a great combo to have your whole library in grave then use a car like underworld breach to take advantage of all of those cards

@@patchworkcommander4995 my first thought with osgir when he was spoiled was actually using Rings and/or procession in tandem with cards like sphere of resistance, to make casting spells REALLY expensive lol

@@Knightfall8 ethersworn canonist is a great card for that. One that I run in my daretti deck that's gross is Ward of Bone. I never really cast this card, I get it from my graveyard on a turn where something bad is going to happen. Since, I dont run that many creature or enchantments or other cards it doesnt really affect me. It really hurts opponents

@@patchworkcommander4995 cannister will go into the deck, but I didn't mention it because it isn't a card that gets better with additional copies on the field

First, from the video, Grinding stations is anyone's artifact comes into play, not just your own, so even better. If you are going to throw forsaken monument and rings of brightearth in might as well throw in basalt monolith also. You might not need Zirda then but still a good card for the deck. While all these create a nice infinite mana if needed (maybe put a Staff of Domination in also?) they are just good cards individually for this deck. You don't need to wait for the combo in hand before playing them. Unless exiled you can get them back via the commander to get the infinite combo to finish out a game. Those are still fairly budget friendly cards. I was about to put Heartstone in but Zirda and Rings are better for the deck. If I took it a route with more artifact creatures with activated abilities then I would think about Heartstone. I wonder if you want a Feldon's Cane in there to protect from graveyard hate. If your groups meta has scavanging ooze and bojuka bog you might want that. I am also surprised in these upgrade videos I have been watching people haven't added Pull From Eternity. Ethersworn Cannonist is a good entry I haven't seen others put in. I happen to luckily have an extra lotus pedal that is going in the deck. I will probably put a Welding Jar in to protect the important copies. There's a lot of good cards people can put in this deck. I think everyone's version will be different than others.

Yeah, those are great includes. Its crazy to see how much card price fluctuate. I still remember buying krark clan ironworks for like 5 or so dollars because it just got banned. But I can never say enough good things about reckless fireweaver it does a ton of work in artifact decks

That's why Martyr's Bond is incredible in this deck and does a ton of work. Basicaly the budget version of those cards

@@kylemcgowan1 Thanks, a lot I appreciate the support. I really tried to made a deck that is a great taking off point and can still really compete. With mana base tweaks this deck is already really strong

I can go over it quickly, want to stick to under 20 minutes even with this set up I had over an hour of footage. If I can cut that time then I can do that. Maybe an overview might work. Like for this deck I got rid of most of the 1/1 synergies to focus the deck more

I appreciate it, I actually own a 1/1 counters deck. The best cards for that deck include walking balilsta, the sword that profilerates, and mikaeus the lunarch. Yeah, sure I can definitely do that. A good card for creating a bunch of tokens is koma as well. Thanks for the advice
