It’s funny that you mention the low snare ultra clipped thing…. I’ve heard a couple mixes from bands I love recently that have been doing that and that sound has been ruining those songs for me.

sounds good. personally, a few years ago I listened to all the out of box sounds of drums. And based my purchase on the closest thing to what was in my head... and for me it was Perfect Drums, funny because it's older, but it just has massive character, like you say about this snare. And I agree. I like the full bodied low end snare for my BM stuff, and a smaller popier, ringy-er one for the heavy genres (frees up low mids for bass and guitar!)

How are you getting the names of the drums in each output? Is that just a drum map in cubase? I am trying to figure out how to clean up the session and it keeps crashing. It’s lucky it sounds so good or I’d toss it right in the trash
@ChernobylAudio666
@ChernobylAudio666 3 күн бұрын
In the MIDI section? That's a drum map I created and load in every time I use DAH. Remember with the crashing, insert the plugin and immediately output the 16 stereo outs before going into the plugin and setting up output routing.

@@ChernobylAudio666 thanks! I do get that but I am having trouble cleaning up my tracks. I am trying to do 1-7 shells and 8 and 9 rooms and OH. It is showing all 16 outputs in the mixer and my brain can't have that
@ChernobylAudio666
@ChernobylAudio666 3 күн бұрын
@@mattelder4269 Totally get you, haha. So you insert the plugin and if you know you're doing 1-7 for shells, 8 and 9 for rooms and overheads, then you'd insert and immediately set 1-8 outputs and THEN set the plugin to that routing system. Just don't fuck it up or.... you guessed it, crash-o-rino. 😂 Once it works, set it all up as a preset and that'll be the last time you have to fuck with it.

I only ticked the amount I knew I'd end up using and from there did the routing setup in DAH. At the end of the day you could just route the full 16 channels straight away and it wouldn't be a big deal... but being the neat-freak that I am, I make it harder on myself.

@@mattelder4269 Yeah, you have to create the extra multi-outs first before setting the routing from the plugin itself. In Cubase I insert the plugin, then automatically add the extra tracks I need, and only after that I change the routing in the plugin itself.

please how to make your guitar recording DI more clean. please reply thank you
@ChernobylAudio666
@ChernobylAudio666 4 күн бұрын
More clean how? From electrical interference? In that case you probably need a Ground Lift. Otherwise the best way to make a DI more clean is to improve the way you play guitar. You can also put foam or tape on the strings above the nut to help reduce extra string noise while playing.

I been seeing mixed opinions on whether I should record guitars with the amp effects on or a completely dry guitar then run it into the mixer with the amp preset. Which is the better option?
@ChernobylAudio666
@ChernobylAudio666 4 күн бұрын
Depends entirely on you. When I record, I use an amp simulator preset I created and just focus on recording a good DI. After that, I worry about crafting a guitar tone that fits my music. I don't know anybody who would record a dry DI without any kind of amplication. You can't hear what you're doing and it's very uninspiring.

@@ChernobylAudio666 I usually record with the amp sim present so I can hear whats going on but its recording the guitar dry. The amp sim is not present on that recording. Only issue I’ve had with any of their Drums(Kvlt Drums, and OSDM Drums) is I never could get any sound out of them, I know it’s me not doing something right. EzDrummer is easy to load, but ugritones stuff is different for some reason. It doesn’t load the same way in reaper. I’ve got most of their midi drum packs and ir’s, and never had any issues at all with that stuff. Ron is the man though, his Loudstakk stuff is phenomenal as well.

The bug with any ugritone plug in I had with logic was that the sounds would play back distorted or bit crushed if it is the track that’s selected. The work around for me was to click on any other track for instance the guitar track and the play back would be fine or to increase the buffer size.

I had kvlt drums 2 and osdm drums already, but when I found out that Ugritone was closing shop, I knew I would regret not getting the everything bundle. It's a shame that they're closing shop, but I'm a fan of their stuff and while the heavier hitters (no pun intended) like Toontrack and Slate Drums have some nice features, I find myself gravitating to the ugritone libraries
