This is the point where I can’t believe, this sound is coming from a plugin….this is crazy, one of the best bass tones I’ve ever heard! Really nice and informative video! Thank You!🤘😃👍

It's pretty ridiculous what metal bass plugins can do these days! \m/

Thanks a lot, Scott, for going through all of essential parts of this plugin. The video is rather long, but I like how it covers most of the use cases for the stuff this plugin offers in metal mixing! Cheers!

If you don’t like the modern glassy bass tones (I don’t either), you should check out the Traynor TS-50b or the pedal equivalent since it’s solid state, the Tronographic Rusty Box. They say it has some sort of three stage compression that controls the highs. Idk how to explain it, but it gets a cutting and grinding distortion that’s not clanky or jangly. I’ve see NAM profiles for the rusty box and the traynor TS-120b (which I guess is the 120 watt version), so you can try out the distortion character yourself. Steve Albini is known for using the amp as well as the bassist in The Jesus Lizard so it probably gets more use in rock, but I think Brian Cook of Botch and Russian Circles uses one as well Edit: i’ve emailed all the bigger amp sim companies to look into modeling the amp, so if you’d like it help out by doing the same I’d appreciate it haha

wow! just love that tone...a question though? just wondering! since u split the bass into high and low in the same track, does it end up as an stereo track in that sense?
@midwestexiled8423 ай бұрын
After hours of mixing this song from your course. And being very acquainted with how the bass sat before. I would say there is a very “good kinda grind” going on now. Great vid! Guess what I’m purchasing today per the gospel of Scott? 😆

I still use Mammoth and Gorilla bass suites to this day. Aurora is awesome.

I have the real Laney DB500H so it will be interesting to try this plugin version and compare them. I usually don't record with the amp though since it lives in our rehearsal space, so I've instead been using an Origin Bassrig Super Vintage and Turbo RAT to record at home. Maybe this plugin will finally be one that I find good enough to replace that!

Sounds cool, would be good to hear it with an actual bass

@@itsonlyrocknroll12 Sounds just as awesome, the extra plugins in the suite come in handy dealing with a real bass too. Big fan of this

So far I see only one or split. Where's the parallel processing?
@ChernobylAudio6663 ай бұрын
The split happens, and then the low frequencies goes to the "lower" portion of the processing chain, and the upper frequencies go to the top part of the processing chain. It's represented at the bottom of the plugin where it splits.
