I'd add the general store west of Riverside, past the warehouses, to the list. The zombie population is practically non-existant, you're right next to the river, there's fields, deep forests and urban areas for foraging nearby, there's a gas station next door and since you pass the warehouses and storage lot, you can pick up a generator on the way. It's a totally viable strategy to loot all the bookstores in Riverside then high-tail it west in the first couple of days.

so some other base locations ive use is the Train Yard at the quarantine zone i was able to fortify it within a day and survive there for 3 months, another base location is (if your quick enough before the zeds get too thick) is the Scarlet Oak Distillery, in my friends multiplayer server me and a few buds took shotguns to the place and cleared it out, its a great location for being IN louisville, fortifying the back and front gates and having the parking lot be a personal wrecking yard for my fleet of 4 trucks it pays its self off in abundance of loot and is near a foraging zone and on the river

In the current patch, hairdressers are a great way to make money. They are probably the most profitable business you can put into a size 40 or 75 building, and they also work surprisingly well in size 15 stores. Electronics stores are a bit like jewelery stores in that they cost a lot of money to set up and you will need good security, but they can also make good profits. Bookshops are surprisingly good earners too. They aren't the top earners, but sometimes they can beat jewelery / electronics stores when it comes to profits. For the small 15 people per hour stores, I like gift shops. Stores of that size will never earn the really big bucks, but as the tutorial shows they can make decent money as your first store. Even in the latest patch, offices still aren't good in general, IMO. But if you are going to use offices as businesses (as opposed to just having one as a HQ), then lawyers with the right settings are the only office business that makes reasonable money for now. Web development and Graphic Design can make small profits, but they're also the most likely to lose money and it's just not worth the hassle, IMO. While I think hairdressers are going to need a rebalance because they're too profitable, all the office types (including lawyers) need a rebalance because they aren't profitable enough.

One place I always loot is the Doe Valley Rural store. It has a lot of guns and also some farming suplies. My base is in a house near the lake.

You don't need anywhere else for tools other than the factory southwest of Riverside. The warehouse to the south is plenty, so the other two loot piles are icing on the cake. I'm on a PvE server that resets every week and that, the Riverside Giga Mart, and the strip mall (the hardware store you mentioned included because you can never have enough wood glue) is all I ever loot.

IMO the Combat Text mod makes it too much like an MMO. It takes away the danger element of the Z's. I don't think this mod belongs in this game.

bro just put laywers at 7am to 9 pm and then let them work theyre ass of i have a laywer firm that makes around 90k per day and my smaller one makes 20k a day and only youse them at monday trought friday

I've always enjoyed the American Tire just East of West Point. It's just outside of town, and I think right on the boarder of spawning zones so the zomboid pop is a bit lower than the rest of West Point. Takes a bit of work to get secure, but has a good amount of space and a 2 spot garage to keep your car safe. Gas station, storage lots, Gigamart, and the river (the jammed bridge) are all rather close by.

My favorite Louisville base is the apartment above the office for rent south of American Tire and the large central park. It's close to a bookstore, Gigamart, police station, garden store, a MALL, two gas stations, and medical supplies. The garden center had pre-built rain barrls for easy farming in the fenced animal exercise area. The woods to the park are a short walk away for all your lumber needs.

it should be noted that weirdly you can fish in any body of water even pools or very small ponds the fish don't run out either lets hope they fix this with the build 42 fishing improvments

I appreciate your KZbin video. I didn't have any mods installed and was looking for some UI mods and I was able to find and install some good ones thanks to you. However, I think that you made a mistake and also left an important mod out. Around 1:40 in your video, you demonstrate that there is a Symbol Size slider where we can change the size of map symbols. But that actually has nothing to do with the Extra Map Symbols mod that you were talking about. That Extra Map Symbols just has extra symbols and that's it. It does come with an extra and optional Extra Maps Symbols UI mod that lets you do symbol and text scaling, but it is super buggy. It also requires a NumPad on your keyboard and there is no slider. The mod that is responsible for the Symbol Size slider might actually be this mod which you did not mention or link to in your video (steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2734705913).

I'm using that same hardware store in west point. Since I started there it looked like best place to setup a base. Lots of space, room to sleep and kitchen on 2nd floor, bottom floor can be used as storage space, parking for dozen of vehicles, wood for building... really good place.

Just started playing this game. After setting up my hq and getting my hr's skill maxed, I started working on my lawyers office. It now makes 20k alone per day.

For the river side hardware store you can pretty easily gather the zombies in front of the store then go around back and lead them around the tall fence. Just make sure not to sprint after you climb the fence.

As I reach the end of September before my third winter, Def's Long Term Survival mod sounds like just the thing I need to spice things up a bit. There's so much cooking I missed out on because of ingredients rotting at the start. Plus, canning in vanilla doesn't really work well since you're using a finite item to prolong an infinite item (kind of backwards.) Thanks for teaching me about it!

My only issue with your mod is you added Avocado which grows on trees but you let people harvest it in almost half the time as corn. Seems off to me.
