@@sgt1959 Thank you for your kind reply. I was just saying: Great clip, very good guitar and very nice examples of tones, your presentation was clear, exhaustive and to the point. In fact, following some reviews and demos on YT, but primarily yours, I decided to purchase the unit on Reverb that I had spotted out. I had been looking into different options, new and used, of different types (and brands) of Telecasters. Furthermore, I also purchased a used Boss M 50 :). I enjoyed listening to your explanations too, since I lived one year in Scotland, Fort-William, in the mid eighties. Many memories from my stay there, the people, the nature, the cities and smaller towns, and the venues and pubs "on occasion". I saw Ossian in Glasgow in April 1987. I will never forget that concert (but of course, you might not be based in Scotland currently). Slàinte Mhath!

Hi man, are they the original pickups in the squire? I just got one of these and I’m thinking of changing the pickups. Your one sounds great
@sgt195928 күн бұрын
Hi Rory and thanks for your question. No they were ToneRider Classic Blues pickups in the Squier. The original pickups for this 87' Squier were brilliant though. The problem was the middle pickup died at some point, and I could not find anything that matched the neck & bridge, (tried loads of pickups). So in the end I bought the TR Classic Blues set and fitted those to the guitar.

And how does the radius change as the string spacing change. Please don’t make videos when you don’t understand the topic.
@sgt1959Ай бұрын
Okay genius, how does adjusting the bridge radius to match the fretboard affect string spacing? They are 2 entirely different things, and any change in spacing by radius adjustment would be so miniscule as to make naff all difference.

how hard was it to hold the strings to the frets. and what strings did you use.
@sgt1959Ай бұрын
Hi Joseph and thanks for the questions. I left the old strings on the guitar which were 012" gauge. As regards holding the strings to the frets, the guitar was okay for me out of the box but might have been hard work for a beginner. After lowering the string action they were a lot easier to fret and intonation was improved.

which is best mic to capture guitar and singing together
@sgt19592 ай бұрын
Hi, I'm not the best to ask this as I'm not a Git/vox person. For some general advice, you might want to get a good all-round condenser mic, (e.g. Rode or Audio-Technica etc), and experiment with placement. Alternatively, you could try two decent dynamic mic's, (e.g. Shure SM57 for guitar - Shure SM58 for vox). Ask at a local music shop if you have one near to you.

I had quite the moment of clarity with my ME-50! I was trying to get a nice gentle overdrive out of my ME-80 but all of the drives were too distorted - even at the minimum setting. So I dug out my ME-50 and discovered that not only does it have more od/distortion modes than the ME-80 - it has sweeter and cleaner drives too! The natural drive is missing from the ME-80 but on the ME-50 it sounds brill! I'm actually considering trying an ME-90 but will it sound as sweet as the ME-50...
@sgt19592 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comments. The overdrives are great on the ME-50 if you take the time to learn how to set each one. I have upgraded to the ME-90 myself and it also has fewer od/dist options, but the unit sounds fantastic. It also has pre-amp + cab sims. Again you have to spend time with it to learn how all of the effects work together, but it's worth the effort. I've had mine for a year now and I'm still learning how to get the best from it. Check out this weeks video to get a feel for the ME-90 - it's just me randomly noodling on it.
