cant say it enough to people always pre build your trim before install makes it so much easier than trying to fit things after they've been installed your doing double the work this way use ca glue and activator to build it on the floor or whatever or even clamps then nail it in place and take the clamps off no reason to do door trim the way that you did

Unfortunately, your audio signal chain has an auto-gain function in it somewhere which is programmed to eliminate sounds that it thinks are background noise, so your sound comparisons didn't really work effectively.

Just for comparison and no disrespect, I purchased a Harbor Freight Bauer CORDED saw just like this. It works great and I'm really putting it to the test. I prefer corded tools to get the constant full power. I noticed most people in videos are not using battery tools in remote places. I guess wrapping up an extension cord has become too much of a hassle.
@kinfolk_carpentry2 ай бұрын
Your right ! I’d say 75% of the time it wouldn’t be a hassle but it in on a roof or a jobsite with one temp outlet on each floor . I also view it as a business owner where time and efficiency is money it certainly adds up when all your tools are cordless not having to drag a cord around , plug and unplug stuff when you have lots of tools out. When I was an employee getting paid by the hour most of my tools were corded .

Great idea. Even better, the Bosch ts1004 dust collection bag fits the dewalt saw perfectly and it’s less than $18 on Amazon. Real easy to take on and off. Collects a lot of dust making clean up a lot easier. Just have to remember to empty it one in a while.

Nice work! I was wondering if there’s a way to miter the sides instead of the bottom? It seems like water would be less likely get in if the sides overlap the bottom.

Very nice setup. Not fancy smancy but well organized. I work out of a Ranger with a camper shell and I carry a Kwick Kan and contractor trash bags. Saves quite a bit of space in my truck. I really like the little Dewalt miter saw that you have. It takes care of 90% of the jobs I do. Can even cut tall baseboards if I only have a few cuts to make.
@timh71563 ай бұрын
I was bummed when Milwaukee released this one because I had just purchased the Bosch 12v planer a few months before. I’m really happy with the Bosch but I already have a boat load m12 batteries. Plus the Milwaukee has more power. Like you I bought a Makita corded planer decades ago and have only used it a few times but I find that the mini planer is so easy to control and use that I find myself using it for a lot of things.

Nice little compressor. I wish they made them that quiet when I was a trim carpenter 30 years ago. I have the 3 gallon 1.5 hp version which is almost as quiet at 60db. Real easy to have a normal conversation while standing right next to it. It keeps up well and has a fast recovery. Works really well for drywall repairs too.

I bought one of these 9 months ago and it suddenly stopped today during very light duty. I bought it for very use indoors for home use, in my climate controlled garage. I have even had a bit of buyer’s remorse, thinking that this was overkill for my minor uses. I could probably count in my fingers the number of times I’ve connected the hose to use it. I have used it for occasional brad nailing (only used once to test that ability and works great) and blowing dust out of little projects. I used it today in the kitchen to blow dust/fuzz under the fridge radiator fins to dislodge so that the vacuum cleaner could pull it out. I connected it back up in the garage and suddenly it won’t turn on at all. Any thoughts? I could not find any kind of reset on it. Next step (horror!) is to try to dig up the manual for it.

I just had this happen to me actually and I think there is a sensor in it to prevent it from over heating . I thought it was done for I tried it a few days later and it fired back up .

I got mine for years! I love it, but I find it kind of slow sometimes. Also I have a 24v 7 1/4 sliding dual bevel Kobalt and it is awesome! The cut capacity is much longer than the Dewalt. But the saw is a little bit bigger. Do you also find that your miter saw loses a little power with some cuts?
@kinfolk_carpentry4 ай бұрын
I thinks some of the power loss might depend on what battery your using I do find in some materials it may be underpowered a bit but i think having a flex volt battery in it helps

How do you go about quoting jobs? I know trim, base etc you can charge by the foot. But let’s say you’re taking out old doors and installing new ones and it’ll take you all day. Are you just charging what your days worth? I’m trying to start doing side jobs but I just need to be better with giving clients quotes.
@kinfolk_carpentry4 ай бұрын
Yes exactly I have a day rate and a half day rate . So even if it’s a 2 hour job it’s a half day . So i bid a job by breaking down how many days I think it will take me add in some profit for your business and mark up on materials and that’s how it’s done
@dmariewalker68804 ай бұрын
I just bought this saw at Home Depot, it didn’t come with the T bar, I bought 2 blades at the same time, a framing blade & a fine finish blade. The blade with the saw was a 24T. I only wanted to cut up some old pickets & my saw saw was getting too heavy. This will come in handy for smaller wood cutting.
