As a DC native I will tell you up front. A “decent hotel room “ should run you about $300 per night. Also, DC’s landscape changes quickly and the are many places I don’t frequent.You were at Navy Yard, nice area but a block away and you’re open to the social elements that many of us moved away from. She may just not wanted to make the drive considering all of the juvenile car jacking. If DC is still on your list, I would suggest moving to the suburbs and deal the commute time. My home - office is 1 hr/ 30 min each way. My living expenses are lower,crime risk and taxes is are lower. You’re younger and probably want the city experience,so naturally you’re willing to reside in places I wouldn’t consider.There are neighborhoods that should only be 1 or 2 stops away from your destination. Like you stated DC has a lot of renovations. However, the build and a few restaurants may change quickly but the neighborhood can take years. Do your due diligence on the neighborhood.NOMA and Navy Yard are relatively newer construction. From what I presuming, the city wants you. A high owner willing to pay taxes and not require many city funded social services. Good luck.

As a man regardless of friendship, you shouldn’t ask to stay with a woman. I would’ve paid to the price for the room and avoid the drama all together.

I killed most of my precious years in dump state. It is the dumpest state ever!I lost my first car which was toyota Camry. It was awsome car to save gas. I worke hard to buy it. But some ones stole it and smashed like a potato. I was cried like a baby at thst day. Because, it was 2020 when the Covid was so scary and killing peoples like a crazy. I couldn't get uber even. Public transit was very scary too. I was in the hell.I am so glad being in different state now. Lack of work oppurtunity and low payiment state. I never look back at all.

Moved to the NoVa area 1.5 years ago by way of NC. I was sticker shocked! I pay 1900 for 740 sq ft. and 100 just to park my car in the parking lot...2100/month with fees. Compared to paying under 1k/month when I had a mortgage in NC. I love my apartment in Arlington... but I love owning property MORE! Ill be moving back south come the end of my lease in 2025.. But best of luck to ya brotha!

The ATL has never been the “Mecca”, that it has been marketed to be. If one’s corporate job transfers one there, you will be fine. If one moves there like “Huckleberry Fin”, looking for the black “Promise Land”, you will live in extreme poverty. Let’s begin to tell the truth.

@JamionWhite120 күн бұрын
it depends on the college but most likely there will be a roommate unless you get like a 4 bedroom dorm

First, you said "I bought this girl dinner, guys". Then you say it was $20. She works for the FBI so she probably thinks she "made it" and probably judged you as being poor and inconveniencing her over $150 which, to her, is like getting her nails done pocket change. She's not your friend anymore.

The problem you cats keep moving. Stay still man damn. Stop following the crowds. When you all move to Atlanta, you all trash this city. Then they move to Houston. You all trash Houston. Move to Phoenix. You all trash Phoenix.

I went on a trip to ATL (Macon) and had a great time. I sold my furniture and was going to move there. It must have been GOD because I got fired. That set me back and stop my move to ATL. A blessing in disguise. I would never move there. The ex friend and I end up going our own separate ways. Ps- we went back and forth from Macon to atl.

Bottom line- anywhere there’s a high concentration of blacks (think Atlanta, Detroit, Baltimore, etc). I’m glad I live in a suburb of Tampa Florida in a conservative voting district. I will never live around a bunch of blacks if I can help it and I’m black. We just don’t know how to act, period…

Well tbh, I'm not particularly surprised. When you look at the demographics for ATL it's similar to other areas as well. I would just say stay far away from ATL and places like ATL and you should be fine. An enclave full of thieves, gangbangers, scammers and urban nationalists.
