Hmmm. Tjey look cool and all, but there are good butchers knives at the orice from €15. I am sorry, but tho i can afford it, i won't. For the price i want a knife that goes out in the field alone and brings a piece of meat home....

Any input on the standard Pup for $59 and the one for $99? I have both in my cart, just can’t decide if it’s worth the upgrade and what they are. Thanks for any help and understanding.

Difference is the blade steel. The more expensive one with S35VN blade is supposed to be a better steel that holds an edge longer. The cheaper, with 14C28N steel, is apparently a more durable metal than S35VN though. I literally just looked this up a few minutes ago wondering the same. I like the scales of the more expensive one but from what I scoured on Reddit it doesn’t seem like S35VN is worth being 50% more than 14C28N.

@@Bakez94 Great info, I appreciate the leg work. I think I’m gonna go with the base. I just saw a video about the S35VN and it doesn’t seem worth the difference. Thanks my friend!

I just don't get a 'tac' light being a thrower. Shouldn't a tac light ignite the threat directly in front of you? If I was alarmed and slapped this on the threat I suspect I would get an intense view if the attackers shirt pocket instead of his whole person. Nice mini search light but not a tac light imo. Give me this in flood and I would snatch it up for sure. Like the form factor for sure.

They should make it: Low - half press (hold). High - full press (click). Simple and effective. (And while they're at it, add a strobe tot the tac with a click and hold) In some cases (tac) you want the high right away, so one click. (Or strobe, click and hold). But in other cases you will want the low setting only. To preserve your nightsight, not blind yourself/colleagues when taking a quick look at something in front of you (map, item etc.) or if you dont want to light up the entire room/area. With the current UI you'll always need to flash the high or medium settings. Which, for me, is a dealbreaker unfortunately :(

I think the only thing bad I have to say about this knife just getting one in yesterday is the weight to size ratio. For over 3 ounces that's HEFTY for a little knife. Nice geometry, edge, and action aside from harping on the weight of it. It was my first buy from Vosteed alongside the Talarus, which I definitely like more even if it's arguable it could be a worse value in comparison on materials.

They are cool flashlights, but without anti-uv glases even if it is reflected out a fluorescent objectbl it feels very agressive to the eyes, and after a couple of minutes it doesent feel good at all, almost gives me a headache. Mine is a chinese brand wuben, 365nm, 850 mW, great little decice but don't know how safe it is, I will use it maybe once a week for a couple of minutes max.

fenix ld12r is my favorite edc currently, going on about a year of work duty. my biggest gripe is the finish durability. It should look 'battle worn' but looks nearly new. sticking with 14500 theme the klarus xt1a seems like a solid preformer(programable dual switch for instant high, and instant low), but the fenix is great with the external usb charging, and magnetic pocket clip.

@codybill242 ай бұрын
Regarding the UI (default modes for tac vs edc usage) I think it would be cool if it were programmable between 2-3 different operation modes, kinda like how Klarus (and some others I think) do with some of theirs. So it can have a tactical mode or an edc mode, rather than two totally different lights
