I love my Dawson knives but hate the sheaths.the sheaths a very bulky and uncomfortable to carry.

I am both a fixed and folder fan. I am the proud owner of one of the older Dawson's that is marked "Dawson Tactical". I've spoken to Dawson, as I live in AZ and take a trip to Prescott every year, about maybe making me a sheath as I love their newest designs. This particular knife was a gift from a since passed customer, RIP Al, back when I ran a gun store. He said he received it from one of the boys down there at Dawson. It's tough to identify it as they no longer produce the blade so I am going to stop by the shop on my next trip through Prescott and get it measured for a sheath. Great content sir, keep it coming!

I have never seen a plunge grind miss the sharpening choil so badly - is there some reason for that?

I'd assume the notch in the ricasso is meant for working with wire.

After working with knives since I bought myself my first fixed blade kitchen knife from a thrift store ( yes I did that) I can safely say with all safe certainty that the only pro ( that I can see) folding knives have over fixed blades is compatability and smaller size unfortunately for folding knives they are making fixed blades the size of folding knives both in their closed and open states --- SO, folding knives are really losing their one(two?) and only pro over a fixed blade. No matter how strong a folding knife is It still folds, it's still held together with mechanical parts that can fail and or falter. I can keep going But y'all get the point [End rant]

I agree, though I recently purchased a Ruike with their Beta Plus lock and have been putting it through its paces as a EDC. If anything, the price to performance is outstanding! $50 with an additional $15 for a set of Skiff bearings and I have a pretty awesome flipper! Ruike claims the Beta Plus Lock will make their folders "fixed" blades. Well this is not true, but out of all the folders I and others have tested.... their locking system is definitely extremely durable compared to most. There is a video floating around that shows a Ruike with the Beta Plus lock being batoned through wood. Despite eventually malfunctioning, it was pretty impressive to see for me personally. Most folding knives would not last half as long as the Ruike did and at this price point I am beyond impressed.
