So, with the XP3.0 (not the peak), both the front and rear wheel holder can be adjusted to not hit the fenders, correct? We have two XP 3.0's. Thanks.
@ayeartovolunteer25 күн бұрын
Yes. What we do is set the cross braces for the height of the tire and we set the rear wheel first so that the roller on the brace tucks in just below the fender and then we do the same thing on the front wheel. Also, and kind of embarrassed I didn’t pick up on this as soon as I should have, place your bike so that the derailers are on the outside. Lastly, a $3 swim noodle zip tied between the bikes goes a long way to prevent them from getting close to touching each other. Valuable extra insurance!

They generally jump at the chance - let them know we sent you. I believe we saw you sign up for our newsletter and hopefully we'll see you at a project soon. Very interesting video to see your breakdown. We have a 2007 Monaco and basically had that same situation happen although it was much simpler to fix by replacing the main drive gear which is made of nylon as I got a hold of the manufacturer. They told me they called that the sacrificial gear, and when the teeth broke off or it actually severed in half the slide room sees to operate wasn’t too hard to fix but didn’t have complications of the welded steel frame as depicted in your video. Keep up the great work we’ll meet on the road someday. Thomyt

Replace that pin with a sheer pin that presses in and it won’t give you a problem anymore
@ayeartovolunteerАй бұрын
Thought about that but not sure there's enough clearance for a shear pin. I am considering a pin with a snap/retaining ring. It doesn't reseat easily but I definitely don't want to make this a once every three year maintenance check! Thanks for watching and the recommendation!
@johnstangel8918Ай бұрын
Phil, what you should do is put a snap sleeve over that pin once you get it back in place this way, it can't slip back out and cause you all those headaches.
@ayeartovolunteerАй бұрын
Hey John, thanks for the suggestion. I do. I was thinking of something like a clamp but it has to have the clearance in there. Something that won't slide off but is removable. When I buttoned it back up, I knew i was going to have to head in there again to do a more permanent fix.

First time viewer of your channel. I was VERY interested in this specific content. Looking to buy a coach in the near future and I always wondered about this option. I’m sure there are tons of older “crusty’s” out there that are still fine functioning units just need some lovin’ on the outside. This is great information and a source that I am going to save for the future as we scout. I’m so glad Jason was willing to share pricing up front because I’m certain I’m not the only one thinking about the feasibility of this. Great video. I’m sure CDI is going to get a BIG bump in business from this video. Looking for a future video to see how it holds up. Good luck!

The base price is $16000 and that's the price you pay for a Class A unless you have extensive damage or other body work that needs doing. We came in with extensive hail damage on the passenger side so there was an added cost there to repair that was tacked on and insurance paid. Thanks for watching!

It looks like they do a nice job. I started painting in the late 80's and have done show cars, race cars, and for about a year I painted multi-million dollar coaches for one of the premier coach builders in Oregon. It's a lot of work. Each coach had a custom graphics layout, but we didn't use stencils. We did everything freehand. A couple things I noticed in the video was, he never mentioned washing the coach when it first comes in and going over it with wax and grease remover. I would certainly hope that they do, because it is very critical to the longevity of the paint job. The other thing I heard him mention was "double clear". I'm assuming he was referring to having two coats of clear on it. I would hope that two coats of clear is standard, because one coat of clear is not enough protection and it will deteriorate sooner... Their pricing is good. It's a lot of labor hours and it takes a lot of paint, especially on a Class A coach, and paint has gotten very expensive. He didn't mention what brand of paint they use, but even the cheaper brands of paint are expensive. In the video it does look like they have good QC and that makes a lot of difference.
@ayeartovolunteerАй бұрын
Thanks a lot for this - really educational. Not sure what they did beforehand but they definitely prepped the surface before priming. The entire coach had been sanded down. Yep, two coats of clear is standard and we might have opted for three but all good. For their paint, from what I understood, they have a sister company under the same ownership where they source the paint. This probably gives them a decents edge on costs. Overall, we're super happy with the work and quality. Their three year defect warranty is great. If you find something, they'll fix it. Thanks again for the comment and for watching.

I have a 2008 Tour Master with the big slide, it seams like it drops down on an angle more than it should while moving out and back in. I’m curious if it’s normal movement. We bought our rig from a wholesaler 3 years ago and love it. Thanks!
@ayeartovolunteer2 ай бұрын
It does. Right before our paint job on our most recent video, we took it to a shop and had it adjusted. Do you have a large gap on the bottom of the slide gasket? We do and there's definitely more droop than I think there should be but it could also be because they swapped out a hard rubber gasket along the top for a soft one. It's honestly our our least liked feature of this coach. It would be so much better if we had two slides on both sides of the coach to give us the same size living room.
@donsimons6379Ай бұрын
@@ayeartovolunteer we definitely have a gap at the bottom, I wouldn’t call it a large gap, but enough that the slide is at a slight angle when opened fully, most people don’t notice but I know it’s there. I would love to know how it operated when new or find a repair place that knows these slides, each of our 3 slides are different. I watched your post about the replacement pump and will be ordering one, we have several extra parts like water pump, cabinet latches, lights fuses, etc. so that will be a good addition. I would love to see a show on slides! Thanks for what you are doing!
