No offence, but this property was not abandoned! I lived there until 2018 and it was sold off as part of a building project and had to be partially restored due its protected status. 😂

I'm of the opinion that you can't do what you want, we all live in a society together and we all must abide by the rules that our society established. If we let people build what ever they wanted wherever they wanted it would soon result in anarchy. However, wirh that all said it was a beautiful house. Throughout history many unusual buildings were constructed that would never have seen the light of day under our modern planing laws. Many of these unusual historic buildings have now become much admired national treasures protected by organisations such as the National Trust. The house was constructed using deception. The owner conceald its construction from the view of planning inspectors with the use of hay bales and tarpaulin. With the intention of removing the hay bales after four years. The building would at that time (if it was not reported) be permitted to remain. The councils planning inspectors did not agree with the owners interpretation of the law and demended it be demolished. The government passed a new law because of this case, this new law specifically stated that if a building was adapted or constructed the four year rule woild only apply if its construction was done without the use of deception to hide it from the planning officers. I would argue that as this house was constructed and lived in for over four years before this new ruling was put into affect, that this house should have been allowed to stay. The house had artistic beauty and as long as it was constructed in a manner that would not have put the owner, his family or the general public at risk then I believe it should have been allowed to remain. The owner could have been punished (for his deception) by paying a fine and the general public could have been informed that his house was 'grandfathered' in and would be the last time deceptive tactics would be permitted, and any subsequent buildings that were constructed with the use of deception to circumvent the four year rule would be immediately demolished.

All built by hand by one man's dream, blood, sweat and tears. What a shame that this can happen. I'm from the other side of the pond but let me tell you, all council's are the fucking same. Sorry Robert, that some prick's ego destroyed your family's beautiful home.

That was actually a really nice house, excellent design. I seriously don't agree with houses being built illegally.... But this is something out of the ordinary.

Bruce Davis was barely in The Manson Family before the murders, and mostly in LONDON before... my so called 'cousin' that brought me to the LOUISIANA CRIME FAMILY that claims me as their 'property/slave' to this very day!!! I'm sorry if this reality upsets 'Mansonologists' who've made careers with their theories of drug running/selling, bad drug deals, or whatever bizarre activities they experimented in such as film making Kenneth Angers project w/Bobby, etc...all of that might be true, or true w/ the film.. but ultimately for me the MOTIVE IS CLEAR....Bruce Davis is a child abducting human trafficker just like his sick family in Louisiana that IM NOT BLOOD RELATED TO, and makes my life a LIVING HELL TO THIS DAY even though I've had NO contact with them for 12 years AT LEAST.. 28 YEARS for my creepy 'dad'!!!! yet they hover around me like FLIES ruining my life..

Great video..a trip down memory lane for me. Back in 2009 I was wanting to move back to Surrey after a 20 year absence. I was told about a cottage on Tillingdown Farm. I went down to Surrey to have a look at it and was shown around by a pleasant gent who was Albert's son-in-law. As I drove over the bridge the 2 cottages were there on the left and I had come to look at the very 1st one which was in a sorry state. A lady whom I never met lived in the cottage nextdoor. The son-in-law was overseeing the renovation and as the cottage was very grim I found it hard to see beyond it. Outside the cottage there was a long paddock that sloped down towards the bypass and some ramshackle outbuildings/sheds/stables which is what I wanted. At the bottom of the paddock stood a mobile phone mast and beside the cottage nextdoor was a track that lead down to the mast for maintenance etc. It all looked very grim and I went back for a 2nd look some weeks later on a bright sunny day but sadly it looked no better. The paddock was quite rough and uneven and not suitable for my elderly horse. There were people working on the cottage on both my visits but progress looked slow. Over the years I've developed a fascination for Tillingdown Farm and I don't know why! It's sad that it's all gone as I'm sure it was a magical place in its day..Jxx 🌸🇬🇧🌻

Shame you explored so late as prior to it being set on fire in the cellar were 2 big doors facing the railway line and those doors led to a tunnel that went all the way upto the Royal Holloway University with some side tunnels with one going to Merlewood Nursing home and to the other side one going god knows where as it had collapsed even when I ventured down there in the early to mid 90s. Local old fella told me when I was a kid the tunnels were from druid age, all I know is it was dark damp and spooky as hell when I was a mere kid with a couple of friends.

You cant play the system,. that is the lesson here - you think you have found a loop hole they will just rewrite the rules. Only people who can cheat the system are the people who write the rules in the first place.
