Nice video. I've been there three times. I will be there for the first time with my '98 Freedom Deluxe this spring for a week. If you ever go again, drive all the way across the playa to the east side. So much more privacy and quietude. Thank again!

Kari and John … honestly, thank you. I have a Casita too and am in year 2. I so appreciate your channel. I tune in every week because you all are kind and considerate and just enjoying life. My experience with my Casita and where I go is similar and when I can’t get out there, I truly enjoy tagging along with you. Peace and love to you. And, if by chance you can send a Tillamook postcard, that would be great, but even better would be to cross paths sometime out Casitaing. Take care!

You two are great together. The videos are getting better and better. You have got us thinking about a day trip up to Tillammok now from Roseburg. Appreciate the pointers on where to go in PNW. Nice post card choices too.

I am 6 feet tall. Do you think I'm too tall for one of these campers?
@ItsaKarifulLife2 күн бұрын
Hi! I am 5’11” and with shoes on I stand up fine in the Casita. In the bathroom I do have to duck a little. My husband is 6’2” and he just hits the top of the camper. We feel very comfortable in the trailer. Just keep in mind it’s a small tight space. But it is a comfortable space.

Recently found your channel and love watching your videos. We get inspiration on new places to go with our little tab 320, as we live in southwest Washington and love exploring and camping too. We also enjoy day trips to the coast but have never been to the restaurant you guys shared. Might have to try next time we are in that area. Hope all gets fixed with your truck. We also love our Toyota. I’d love to get a postcard from you guys. Take care! 🌲🌊🏔️

Okay, watching you two take in the river and then the Tillamook Creamery, was great. I am going to have to put the Creamery on a bucket list trip. How was the mozzarella? Sorry about the truck. Love the generated power station they offer, yet myself am looking at a RAM. Those postcards are cute and would love one to put in my bucket list trip folder. Its not a day trip for me, more of a west coast adventure. Love the fact you do day trips when not camping. ❤

Great video. Love Tillamook cheeses. Hey Kari, I would love a postcard. Sorry about your Ford truck. We bought one in 1978 and I have never had a Ford since. You might look at Toyota truck. We have had several Toyotas and love them. We pulled a 25 foot Forest River. It does great and it's a 2015. Good luvk.

I'm fortunate in that Toi Yoda has a lot of storage area, but keeping it all neat is pretty hard. Sometimes, I get it all neat and just going down the road will cause stuff to rattle out of neat...LOL. Don't know if you watched my tour of Yoda, but we've started to use baskets in the cupboards and labeled them, which helps tremendously. But I certainly do feel your packing pain...

Thanks for posting this video, it was helpful. I'll be installing an electric tongue jack on my 2015 Casita Spirit Deluxe this weekend (it came from the factory with a manual tongue jack). Are you able to provide a little clarity on the specific cable you spliced in the closet? I called Casita to ask for a wiring diagram and they couldn't provide one. Any help is appreciated.

I did not see anyone commenting on the roller shades not working. They will not roll up in cold weather until the camper warms up on the inside. I believe it has something to do with the spring mechanism in the roller shade.
@ItsaKarifulLife8 күн бұрын
You are correct! I’m not quite sure how I feel about the roller shades. I go back and forth on them.

You both did great backing in. Back in the old days, watching couples back into the campsites could get a little exciting. As Murray has said the shorter the trailer the quicker they pivot. Supposedly I will have Casita delivering my Spirit in the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to exploring the PNW too. Thanks for all the tips.

Good on you for giving it a go. Yes, you WILL get there. It is weird at first, but holding the steering wheel at the bottom is less confusing. You want the casita to go left then you turn left. It has been helpful for me to get used to holding the steering wheel this way (at the advice of others). Happy camping 🏕️ 😊

One more comment and I will stop bothering y’all Just to let y’all know I got into an accident with my small car on December 8th and it was a total loss so now I’m saving for a down payment for a full size truck hope to buy one this spring so I’ll have a truck to pull the Casita when I can afford one no one was injured during the accident

Kari, don’t feel bad it was your first time trying to back up the Casita it takes practice I’ll also tell you my experience has been backing up a shorter trailer is more difficult than a longer trailer I’m not sure how John seems to back the casita up like a champ but one suggestion is put your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel and turn the wheel with small inputs in the direction you want the back of the trailer to go with a shorter trailer just use small steering wheel inputs keep practicing you’ll get it I never had a backup camera on my tow vehicles so I had to use the side mounted mirrors on the truck it’s just a suggestion maybe you and John could go to and empty parking lot like on a Sunday or Holiday and you could practice there keep up the good spirits and you’ll master backing up the Casita in no time
@Murray-hy6gw11 күн бұрын
Hello and Happy New Year to you guys, just a suggestion if you cross your safety chains and if for some unknown reason the trailer hitch comes off the hitch ball while traveling with the safety chains crossed it may prevent the trailer hitch from falling on to the road kind of acting as a cradle and preventing damage to the trailer hitch this has only happened to me 40 years ago while towing a boat and I had the safety chains crossed and it did not damage the boat trailer hitch I just pulled off the road and re hitched the boat trailer to the hitch ball and was back on the road in 10 minutes and continued my trip I blame myself for being in a hurry while hitching up the boat trailer to the ball hitch anyway it’s just a suggestion for you guys maybe save you from a bunch of grief down the road keep putting out the wonderful videos

Regarding hitch locks; my new hitch lock on the stinger wouldn't release. I watched some You Tube videos and saw how easy it was to break the lock with a pipe. Desperate, I tried it and it broke easily. I now just use the standard bar and cotter pin on my stinger. I have a fancy trailer hitch lock I use when the trailer is disconnected to prevent trailer theft. It cost me $300.00 !

I had an issue with the door lock on Yoda: it just wouldn't turn, sort of like the lock you had to deal with. I zapped it with WD40 and bam! It worked just fine. You might wanna keep some of that in the Casita even though you likely got a new lock, just in case. And John's become a PNWer, walking around in the rain in a T-shirt.LOL. I might have used the low light setting on the P3 if I was in the cab talking at night to keep the noise lower, but that's just me. Happy Holidays!

My wife and I just dropped a deposit down on a 17ft. Escape travel trailer and they have the same program, they call it the ambassador program where you can sign up once you’ve bought one of their trailers to be available to show your trailer to anyone in your area that is interested in the escape trailers. Once we take delivery I will definitely sign up for that, It seems like a great way to meet a lot of neat people that have similar interest for the outdoors and traveling.
