My wife and I retired in 2022 and have been living in a 21c full-time. The trailer is amazing. A few very minor issues but a very well-made trailer . Highly recommend. Good luck.

We used to have a Casita 16 and a scamp 16, sold both as they were projects. Also had/have 2 Scamp 13', one with a bathroom and one without. Sold the one with the bathroom 2 years ago, too cramped, we prefer the bunk beds up front. A 17 Casita would be nice but I got a deal on a 6 year old classic Escape 19' 10 months ago. its amazing, its huge compared to our scamp 13 that were planning on hanging onto but the escape is still small enough to go practically anywhere and I like the big queen bed, bathroom, storage, interior height and width, bike hitch on the back, large storage box up front and over all look or style and feel. its easy to work on and mod. The cabinets and wood are good stuff. I like the 21c here too, maybe one day but were frugal and like to keep things small and reasonable. We kept the 13' Scamp, its cute and can use it if our family wants to go camping with us too or If I go solo, haven't done that yet but I could. One thing is for sure, Fiberglass is the way to go and Casitas are built better than Scamps. Just be happy with the Casita, its super nice but resale is amazing with these things, you could sell the Casita for a lot and buy a used Escape only needing about 5k-10k extra depending on if you are willing to travel for pick up and move quick on deals....Heck, you cam probably sell the Casita and buy a used Escape for the same money. If I told you how much I paid for our Escape 19 you'd never believe it, less that what I sold the Scamp 13 with bathroom for in the summer of 2022. Were in So Cal so prices are a tad high but yeah. The escape did need some TLC which I did right when I first got it. Escapes are for rich people or so I thought. Excellent quality and lay out. Now Bigfoot trailers are pretty good too but are wider at 8' so hard to tow with out tow mirrors and HEAVY compared to Escapes and Casitas. Bigfoots are 4 season cold weather units where the Escape is a 3 season but we camped this past January during winter at the 8500 foot level, just run the furnace, lol... IMO the Escape 19 is perfect for couples. I also recently sold our Bigfoot truck camper, We gave it a try but we like trailers a lot better... Anyhow have fun, happy camping...

Small world. We were there at the same time and even spotted ourselves, the tie dye couple, lol. We haven't bought a trailer yet and went to this event to see the options we've been considering in person. We're sold on the E23 because we like the bed arrangement and extra room compared to the E21. Just asked Escape for another interior sample pack because they've changed their flooring and countertop options since we worked on our order sheet. Thanks for the reminder of what we saw there, and we've subscribed to your channel.

Wow that’s so cool! I will have to watch the video and spot you. 😀 yes, the Escape is a great trailer. I hope you find yourself in one before you know it! Thanks for leaving me a comment.

Nice information. I’ve been interested in both the Casita and the Escape. Thank you for the video.

Thanks for the review. I love the Escape they seem more roomy inside. The price is more and not in my budget. That is why we ended with the Casita which is a lot better than tent camping. We use our bathroom and we do like the older bathroom. We purchased a 2002 SD and its perfect for us.

Escape has models that are larger than 17 ft...the newest is the Escape 23 which is a little over 34 ft long w/ dual axle

The first thing I do when entering a rig I am considering to buy is sit on the toilet, sit at the table and lay on the bed. If all three are not comfortable it is a no for me, it saves headaches and disappointments down the road.

I think the Escape is just the evolution of owning a camper. If you use one enough to justify the extra cost, anyone would be attracted to it. I'm looking at buying a Casita in the next year or so because it's the most practical option at the price I'm willing to pay. I don't get to travel camp that much so I'm not willing to spend Escape prices for what will essentially replace a tent. When you get to the point that you are thinking about how much room the bathroom has, it might be time to move up to a bigger camper. I'm at the point that a bathroom is a luxury that replaces a pit toilet and as long as I can use it, it's the right size.

Very well said! I own a Casita. It’s great. Got me out of a tent after 60 years. I’m keeping it . Not going bigger! 😁

Boy, the bathroom in my little 19-foot RV (Toi Yoda) is huge compared to all the ones in this video. I'm certainly gonna try that Liquified stuff though. Thanks for sharing.

Escape trailers are awesome. Their quality exceeds anything that is built today! Anything Canadian built actually. Same goes for the Panoramic Class B! I’ve followed Escape Trailer Industries for 14 years. Their 15B, no longer produced, would have been perfect. 17B is a close second. You won’t be disappointed. They have a forum with a wealth of information from owners and wannabes!

We purchased an Escape 21C in 2022 mainly for two reason. It has tandem axels, the rear dinette and the front full size bed. We used it for vacations but this fall we will be retiring and taking it out on 3-4 months trips. Perfect for two and the occasional grandchild.

I believe the Oliver is the Cadillac of fiberglass trailers. Trillium fiberglass campers are built in Canada. The frames broke on some ! 😬Just another point of view.😁

@@ralphp3057 I agree with the trillium..but I think it’s after great west and a bunch of others tried to revive them. Sadly everything is starting to get sketchy

Remember when comparing you are comparing 17 ft to 21 or 23 and a lot more money

Escape definitely has nicer windows when compared to Casita (pretty much all other FGRV's do over Casita, a massive oversight in their design IMHO), they have more room/better floor plans, almost "true" four season capability (not as robust as Oliver or Big Foot in this department) and aluminum frames/chassis. I don't care for their use of wood in the construction of the interiors, that's a durability issue (especially if used off-road) and the cabinet supports are an afterthought and an eye sore IMHO as well. I think they make a very pleasing design from the exterior and their tongue mounted storage boxes are a nice touch. I don't care for their bathrooms to be honest, they look and feel cheaply finished out but they are slightly larger as to be expected. The large support arms on their awnings on the larger models while functional are an added eye sore on an already ugly accessory. All of that said, you should be more impressed with the trailers shown here as they are 4-6ft longer and wider than the Casita. While it's always nice to get more room it also comes with a much larger price tag and they are a much bigger and heavier trailer to tow, maneuver, store, furnish, etc. This is a big consideration for those using smaller tow vehicles. In regards to the Casita bathroom, we don't poop in ours either and we have resorted to using the wag bags in the toilet when there aren't alternative facilities at camp. We haven't showered in ours either and I honestly don't plan to but who knows what the future holds. I like the cabinet design in the newer bathroom personally and while the older riveted on sink design does offer more room I don't really find it to be any more usable as the bathrooms are tight due to the footprint of the trailer. If you need more room in the bathroom you can either limit your time in there or buy a different trailer. The FGRV and Casita specific forums are a different breed, I find the bulk of the users to be narrow minded and a tad territorial with their brand and associated vendors. I understand that the majority of RV owners are older and the crowd on these niche forums follows suit but it seems as if they are very opinionated and untrusting of newcomers which alienates the younger user like myself. At the end of the day I think you have to find a balance between comfort and needs and the reality of compromise. I see the Casita (any RV really) as a means to camp more comfortably than I would in a tent but it's nothing more than a place to change, sleep, and hang out in inclement weather. Any other time spent camping should be spent outdoors as that's the ultimate goal of camping, to go OUTSIDE. I've never understood the reasoning of those who buy a camper to go hang out inside while at the outside, why go camping at all?! Lastly, a little birdy told me that the 13' model is likely coming back to Casita soon and there's rumor of a larger 19-21' dual-axle model that could become a reality in the next few years as well. But you didn't hear that from me lol.
