Should be a great combo! Look forward to seeing it run! No worries on the. Motor mount. I ran a 3650 4600kv in the HBX a today and it was stupid!!!! 60+ mph wheelie!😂

@@RCrepairAndBuilds so nice of you!!! I was only able to hit 64 today because the truck wanted to go into a low earth orbit! I’m thinking the stock motor with taller gearing as a much better solution. 🤣. I may be with Tom or gearing the 3650 will have a little less torque… But probably will still have way too much.

Good luck with the motor. Can't wait to see what you get out of it. The shim job I did on my Thunder worked pretty well. I'm waiting on some ultra thin washer to finish up the cvds.

It's unfortunate because the government is banning out all Chinese branded drones (dji. Autel, etc) which is killing us on the consumer side. Hopefully the bill doesn't make it to the president's desk, I've reached out to more congressman and women over the past few months. We shall see

I’ve been asked to aerial film properties several times lately . I need to get that FAA permit even though I ll never use it . I haven’t charged yet , lol . What a good ballpark price for a drone vid of someone’s property ? I was already making good with the construction work . People like the little extras from my experiences and leaving the job site finished and well done is imperative . 3 man crew 👍 can do everything if they can do everythjng . We re all in our 40 s and 50 s and have been doing the commercial construction and home remodels for a couple decades or more . Just today I got asked to give a price for steels studs and picked up a print . I think more young folks should get into construction or home remodeling or start with baths , or painting . The trades pay well . We all started in the union but once a person sees how much can be made it s a been awesome run . Lately , 54, arthritis , aches and pains are real . I have to watch . No more climbing trees to knock them down for two years now . I used to do anything that paid good , lol . No big projects lately . Just chugging along . Today I bent metal all day and it was awesome , tomorrow crown molding for a neighbor . Sunday , bass boat at mosquito lake if all goes well . Hopefully the walleye are there 👍. Good things .

@@Hungrybird474 definitely get your part 107 license if you're using it for income, I have a friend who got a visit, a warning, because he was doing real-estate work, he ignored the warning and ended up paying a $10k fine by the FAA. You have to get the trust certificate regardless, but the part 107 is much different than thr Trust certificate. Matty, chime in here my friend about the 107, they don't joke around with that, right? About pricing, it's really difficult to say without looking at the project but email me here and I'll try and help you out. Trust me, at 52 I feel your pain! [email protected]

They practically fly themselves with gps , so there’s not much wandering . They’ll sit and hover and not move a foot . They’re fun but to learn get a cheapo first . I still like the mjx bugs for ripping and dji for anything photographic .

@@Hungrybird474 I've been using one fulltime since 2017 when I got my part 107 license. My brother and I opened a drone business in 2019 and never looked back. Have more work than we can do, about to hire another pilot once he passes his 107 exam!

@RCrepairAndBuilds well I changed to the metal spur gear. Unfortunately it doesn't have the slipper pad notches on it like the plastic one does. But it seems to work. Now just waiting on my front cvd shafts and I'll be good to go

I am not sure what to even think about that truck! I love that it is going to be unique to you and should be a great project for the channel. I swear from what I was able to see that looks exactly like a 2997a chassis. The way the back pinches in, the small battery box, the metal plate under the servo..... I assume the motor mount is the same? I am not real pick when it comes to colors but for speedrunning.... when I got my Bandit really fast I found it nice to have a bright color up front (yellow works great for me) but maybe black or something would be cool for the rest of it. Thanks again for sending those motor mounts out and the shout out! If all goes right, we will continue the HBX top speed challenge and I will add a couple of MPH to the joint effort record.... though I was shocked my bigger tires were slower than the ones I currently have on there so how knows how fast it will go with the 19t in there. Maybe that 23t pinion trick will come in handy on that new truck of yours down the road. 😉

I think alot of these budget trucks copy or use each other's parts but atleast it wil still be unique. I thought it would be interesting for the channel tho. 🤷♂️

@@BriansRCStuff I'll actually miss that truck but that kid stood there, being the only one without a RC vehicle. I told him to pick one, my HBX or my mid tier Thunder. Our country is in very bad shape, I watched those protesters tear down 3 American flags today at the Capital and burn them. I fought under those Flags and many of my friends did also and unfortunately some of those didn't come home alive, and that's disrespectful as hell to all Veteran's!

@@da6thmane094 the M0.8 won't fit the stock slipper, I modified some traxxas slipper units to work in my Thunder, there's a video about the slipper conversion. Maybe a smaller pinion like 14 or 15T

@@mr.magick4185 went from a 17t stock pinion to a 22t and gained 19.8 mph with no other changes. Stock 65t spur. The gear ratio isn't optimum being almost 3:1 tho, went to a small spur on my dedicated speed run truck, 4 different, modified traxxas slipper clutch assembles, all with different spur gears
