Mr Sakker, at 0:40 you must be thinking about what you have back on shore to clean your wetsuit up after spotting that Bluey. What a horse, what a shot! 😂👍. Did it remind you of going out to night clubs as a young lad? 🤦‍♂🤣 Serious question, 3:04 / 3:42 what is the difference between the bar cheek Coral trout and the Coastal trout you were referencing? Are they the same fish? 🙆‍♂Probably taste the same LOL! I'm just crap at ID. Getting away from serious for a bit, heads up, if you have a bluey tucked in behind a crack - in the health industry nurses will picture something completely different to what you are thinking. 😱😂🤣👍(Don't google that esp on an empty stomach) So cool to see you using one of Tony Heugh's guns. They are quality, great piece of kit, life time gun! Thanks for entertaining us! Really enjoyed watching this video! Dive safe, have fun enjoy Life! 👍🍻🐟😁

Thanks mate as always I really appreciate your support and sense of humour!! Coastal trout is a bar cheek trout I don’t know why but all the people I dive with call them coastal trout. I had a fish care volunteer measure my fish at Rosslyn harbour on a day when I had some big ones and he was confused when I kept calling them coastal trout. He thought they were blue spots at first because they were so big. Anyway you would have loved this I kept getting him to hold them right up so the line fishers could see them. You could see the looks like how does that fat old kunt manage to even get in the boat. The guy said the average catch is just above zero for the Linos. I’ve been using edge guns exclusively for over 20 years. Tony Heugh is a legend I’m going to catch up with him in August. Poor bugger had a broken leg but hopes to dive by the time I catch up with him. What a legend!!!! Great to see you making videos again so funny!!

@@jamessakker2117 I’m very new to this is it better to catch lobsters by hand or spearing? Also have you got any tips how to hold my breath for longer when diving for them
@jamessakker2117
@jamessakker2117 3 ай бұрын
In NSW you can only catch them by hand and you can spear them in QLD. I much prefer to hand catch them because you can release any with eggs the lobster stays alive which improves the eating quality and you can upgrade your catch if you need to. Holding your breath is about relaxing and practicing diving. Use your gun to mark the lobster crack they usually don’t move. Take your time plan how you are going to grab the lobster and then make your dive. Swim around slowly to conserve your energy and weight yourself so you are not too buoyant on the bottom of course be buoyant on the surface! Hope this helps the more you do the easier it gets

Hey James! Lost my first big snapper a few weeks ago 80+ Fairly desperate to right the wrong.. is there a specific time of year big snapper will generally be spawning? Is there a time of year that is better than others? I noticed last year that late summer/ autumn seemed to have a particular increase in snapper around Sydney. At this point I’m looking to travel for the best area so looking at Port Stephens, Broughton etc.
@jamessakker2117
@jamessakker2117 3 ай бұрын
I feel your pain mate I have lost plenty of big ones they can dodge spears and can rip out easily. This is definitely the right time of year for big ones although they aren’t spawning that happens mid spring to summer when they weigh a lot more for the same length. Keep diving where you have seen them and don’t shoot anything else if you want a big red. Good luck!!
