They have dumbed down twin flying to such an extent even a Ukrainian could do it-maybe.

Should you do the PPL in a flight school where you are resident (e.g for me Switzerland) or would recommend checking schools abroad that are cheaper like in Spain? Is it then a hassle to have a PPL EASA license in a country where you are not resident when it comes to renewing, transferring, etc. in the future? I was thinking about Spain which is half the cost but then worried about the bureaucracy there in the future when it comes to manage my license. Any advice very welcome!

Where is the flight control, the stick? Have seen no mention of this. Can Garmin GWX-8000 Doppler radar be installed? Is there a gauge for gallons per hour burned? How many hours of oxygen in the system?

My favorite twin but, spectacularly annoying and completely useless "check gear" warning that activates for all the wrong reasons. I would imagine the check gear warning goes off if you unbuckle your seatbelt.

Great. It has rudders you can easily move back and forth on the ground but the engine may blow up in the air. Diamond Aircraft’s Astro engines are crap. Glad the 50 avoided them….wonder why they chose Continental? How long ago did they realize their Austro engine’s were crap? Hmm.

My Dad had the first pressurized & the fastest Mooney ever built after his modifications, then he had the fastest most slippery twin Camanche ever built, again he striped it down and requilt it with his artistic touch. He would have loved everything about this plane. its a work of art in every way. My Dad also built the original Bat Mobile in the 60s and when he built the Pantera #1 prototype in 1970, he designed and built it in his hangar at the Van Nuys Airport at the same time he was building his Mooney.

I gave up after 8 minutes of vague praise with over use of the word 'super' over and over. This guy sounds like a wannabe brochure writer who doesn't really know much of anything. I gave-up in the middle of him babbling-on endlessly to TRY to explain what anyone watching this would understand with the following single sentence: "If an engine stalls, the props feather automatically to reduce drag".

Great video, well done on covering all the important points of a pilot's license in a pedagogical and well-presented way! This certainly was an eye-opener. Have you made the video on the different ratings yet? I'm really curious about them.

Disappointing to see how slowly it climbs. Disappointing to see the cruise speed is so low. This is helicopter speed .. This thing is underpowered to hell. 30 years ago my Seneca outpaced this by miles
@AdamMarrАй бұрын
Hmm, on paper specs for cruise and climb seem almost equal, if not slightly in the DAs favor, with a much lower fuel burn, but maybe I'm wrong with real world, but most videos I've seen seen to match specs for the DA
@SandhoeflyerhomeАй бұрын
@@AdamMarr My Seneca burnt 9 gallons a side per hour. Takes some beating .. A Seneca One by the way, with RayJay turbo's, maintaining sea level pressure, so the same sea level power all the way to 20,000 feet.. Not bad eh ????

The Cirrus jet is in a comparable class and price...and on every statistic is horrible in comparison: lift, drag, fuel consumption, speed, climb rate, stall characteristics etc

I think this is a fantastic aircraft that is actually in the modern age vs many of its competitors. It's aerodynamic, has a crash cell, and wing design that makes stall difficult. It is finished to a high standard and is straightforward to fly. People seem to have a real downer on diamond aircraft but I think they set the standard
