Russ can't shoot, is inconsistent defensively, turns the ball over at an alarming rate, can't finish like he used too, isn't an methodical pg like a nash or cp3, he can't slow down the pace of play, has a low basketball IQ and isn't able to play off ball smh. Unless you're going to run everything through Russ which would be stupid with Jokic and Murray he doesn't add much value to the Nuggets. Y'all lost KCP and replaced him with Russ it's the same mistake the Lakers made. He plays off ball, defends, can move the ball and has no ego. The truth is the advanced metrics/analytics hate Russ and his game he hasn't been impactful since he was on the Rockets. He put up numbers in Washington but it didn't result in team success he just benefited from playing in a weak and injury prone East at the time. I get it you Nuggets fan are trying to see the glass half full and want to embrace Russ with open arms and optimism. But you need to approach the situation with realistic expectations as well the. Y'all are going to miss KCP and Brown y'all would have been better served going after CP3, Fultz or Tyus Jones

Clippers did the hard work, got him use to coming of the bench. Back in the day the assist where not given out so easy. That's why the said it never be broken. Crap every one is getting triple doubles any more because of it. Jokic makes every one better then they are. Westbrook might be the still of the year because of it. Has more game left then Lebron.

People (correctly) point out how much Bruce Brown leaving hurt the Nuggets, but they don’t understand that Russ does almost everything Bruce Brown did - 6’4 athletic guard that can handle, score, make plays, drive, play defense, and most importantly bring energy off the bench. Only thing he isn’t great at is shooting, but that’s fine. AG isn’t a great shooter but he’s extremely valuable for everything else he brings. Russ will be perfect for this team just like Bruce Brown was.

as a nuggets fan i can say our bench last year was so bad that i was literally counting down the minutes until jokic would enter the game again. the bench would legitimately blow games in the 4-5 minutes that jokic was off the floor and if russ can bring energy to that group he will be seen as a huge success in denver

good video. Russ is still very, very good. I think you're right about him being in a much better place comparing to his past few years. I suppose we'll see. But I'm optimistic about him. Unfortunately, Nuggets had a dismal off-season (2nd in a row) -if they kept KCP or found one more contributor/creator to replace him - with Russ (and Saric) - they'd be on par with the best in the West. But again - we'll see.
@TheRealTySmall2 күн бұрын
Ur 100% right. The kcp loss was massive and he’s pretty irreplaceable. Hopefully Saric can step up off the bench and Russ can provide another dimension within that offense
@UnoDinero950012 күн бұрын
Me , & i think alot of other nuggets fans think Kcp’s production is replaceable . You look at his play in the playoffs( though, he was hurt) & he couldn’t stay in front of ant nor could he make his shots . Which is essentially what he was paid for. Cb actually guarded ant better in that series, & i think strawther can help with the 3pt shooting loss from kcp. Kcp was great for us, & definitely better then both of those guys individually . But i think their aggregate skillsets will be good enough.

Brodie's demise has been greatly exagerrated. Lakers never needed a PG since they use a SF as their ball handler; all they needed was a scapegoat. Clippers started to figure out some transition bball, but instead went w/ Harden's dribble, dribble, shoot offense.

Generally speaking, you make good points. My take is this: if there is truth about DiVo being unhappy about his new role, then he was being short-sighted. It’s a long season. The person who was going to lose MAJOR minutes was going to be Deuce. I think the Knicks valued Deuce more than DiVo. Deuce is younger, less expensive and is a better on-ball defender. I think DiVo was a better help defender. Another thing to consider: DiVo probably wanted to maximize his potential for a better contract by playing major minutes. DiVo had a season to remember, but if you’re asking me to choose between DiVo and Mikal, that’s an easy decision. I believe Hart is better off the bench, but I might be in the minority on that one. As for the KAT v Randle issue, it’s not about which is the better player more than which player mixes better with Brunson. Randle was not giving a home town discount - he kinda did that already. How healthy is that shoulder exactly? That’s a factor. I’ll admit I’m sad we won’t get a chance to see what he could have accomplished with this roster. He deserved that, imo. Believe it or not, KAT had his best rebounding years while playing for Thibs. You have to hope that both those individuals are wiser now. Until further notice, I have faith in Rose. Let’s Go Knicks!!
@TheRealTySmall2 күн бұрын
That point about KAT mixing well with Brunson is spot on. Absolutely spot on. And yep, another good point about KAT’s best rebounding year coming under Thibs. Hes gonna get him right here in NYK. This should be a fun season

I think KAT is a little soft compared to Mitch and Isaiah last year. Mitch and Isaiash were both stout defensively but had no offense. KAT does give the Knicks a differetnt dimension to the offense. In close games you would cringe when Mitch or Isaiah miss those last mins free throws but with KAT hes close to a 90% free throw shooter. I think overall it is a little bit of a trade off, we might be weaker on the defensive side of the ball but hopefully our wings can mitigate that bit. If possible we might still need to bring in another defensive big.
