Dear Mr Eddie & Mr Edward Sahakian. I don't know if this comment will ever reach you but i hope it will. My brother (from Belgium) came by your shop in London a few days ago and bought me a cigar which you signed the box for. Both of you. Thank you so much. You are both masterclass at it's finest. I really enjoy watching your videos. Thank you again!

Likewise, Eddie was a true Gent when my Son and I met him at the store. He seems to be able to make time for every Customer, and make us feel special.

One thing I like to use is the cedar wrapper that comes on some cigars. Light the wrap with whatever is handy, then use it to light the cigar. The cedar smoke has a nice aroma as well.

It is a great pleasure to watch your presentations. As said below, more would be better. The English gentleman is unmatched for style and grace. Ideally Eddie and Edward interviewing His Majesty King Charles III would go viral. I think he would fit in well with your relaxed matter. Probably wouldn't indulge but he could talk of Bertie. Cheers from thee land of Draconian smoking laws, Canada.

In canada, your cigars are extremely hard to find. Luckily I found a dealer with a limited supply. I'll be trying your no.2 and 2000 cigars soon. I truly hope I will enjoy the no.2 as much as you two do.

How much does a 30+ cigar cost. If you don’t mind me asking.
@davidofflondon352515 күн бұрын
It depends on the rarity of the brand / cigar. It can range from £50 to a few thousand pounds but a rare Davidoff would be in the £500-1000 range.

1. Introduction • The speaker delves into the art of aging cigars, a subject learned from his father, Edward, a renowned cigar expert. • Focuses on the motivations for aging Cuban cigars, distinguishing them from non-Cuban productions. 2. Why Age Cigars? • Flavor Enhancement: Aging softens and harmonizes the flavor profile, reducing harshness. • Chemical Transformation: Ongoing micro-fermentation alters the cigar’s chemistry over time. • Complexity Development: Leads to more refined and complex flavors as the cigar matures. 3. Characteristics of Young vs. Aged Cigars • Young Cigars: Flavor Profile: Spicy, peppery, vigorous on the palate. • Physical Impact: Strong nicotine content can cause a noticeable effect. • Aged Cigars: Flavor Profile: Softer notes like wood, vanilla, caramel, and pronounced tannins. • Experience: More subtle and complex, akin to the nuances found in vintage champagne. 4. Stages of Aging • 3-5 Years: Noticeable improvement; flavors begin to harmonize. • 10-15 Years: Significant transformation; spices give way to softer notes. • 20+ Years: Entering the “magical third fermentation,” offering a unique and profound experience. 5. Selecting Cigars for Aging • It’s challenging to predict which cigars will age well. • Advice: Age cigars you already enjoy to increase the likelihood of satisfaction after aging. 6. Recognizing Over-Aged Cigars • Signs include a lack of flavor, tasting like dry leaves. • However, cigars can go through a “fallow period” and may improve if aged longer. 7. Aging and Value • Aging can increase a cigar’s value, especially rare or discontinued ones. • Caution: Value appreciation should be secondary to personal enjoyment. 8. How to Age Cigars Properly • Humidity: Store at lower relative humidity (63-65%) to prevent mold and over-humidification. • Temperature: Keep at cooler temperatures (12-14°C or 53-57°F) to slow aging and prevent pests. • Ventilation: Ensure proper airflow to avoid stale aromas and mold growth. • Preparation for Smoking: Before smoking, acclimate cigars to a slightly higher humidity and temperature. 9. Handling and Smoking Aged Cigars • Cutting: Use a sharp cutter carefully; consider a punch cut for brittle wrappers. • Lighting: Use a gentle flame to prevent charring; aged cigars are more combustible. • Enjoyment: Savor the nuanced flavors; pair with aged spirits or wines to complement the experience. 10. Cuban vs. Non-Cuban Cigars • Cuban Cigars: Benefit significantly from aging due to ongoing micro-fermentation. • Non-Cuban Cigars: Initially thought not to require aging, but can also improve over long periods, albeit more subtly. 11. Aging in Tubes and Cellophane • Tubes: Act as time capsules, slowing down aging and preserving freshness. • Cellophane: Similar effect but less pronounced; both protect against physical damage 12. Pre-Revolution Cigars • Unique Tobacco: Use different species affecting longevity and flavor. • Collectibility: Sought after for distinct profiles and legal transport into certain countries. 13. Recommended Resource • Book: An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Post-Revolution Havana Cigars by Min Ron Nee. • Considered a seminal work on Cuban cigars and aging. 14. Conclusion • Aging cigars is a personal and rewarding practice that enhances flavor and potentially value. • Encourages cigar enthusiasts to trust their senses and preferences. • Invites further questions and engagement on the topic.

I purchased a box of anniversaries #1 in Germany in the early '90s. It had a sliding lid and 10 wooden tubes with a cigar in each one of them. Still have some of the tubes and the box, but no cigars in that one. I do have the new box though with the single tube. Awesome cigar, perfect with eggs in the morning.
