Eddie can you make a more detailed video on the meaning of strength within a cigar? And how that correlates to terms like “medium body” “full body” and if the color of the wrapper has anything to do with this “strength”? With your experience, would love to hear your explanation
@waleed8530
@waleed8530 Жыл бұрын
They already mentioned that the color of the wrapper doesn't indicate 'strength'. I also heard Cuba doesn't like often to use the term 'strength' instead they like to go with 'body'.

Prof. Eddie Sahakian delivers! Excellent video, sir! I grew to like the cellophane wrappers, especially for smaller humidors - it gives it a safe buffer if humidity is not perfect and also nicely protects the foot, for large ring gauges.

This is difficult. Any decent cigar costs money. Affordability is relative. I know people who refuse anything over $40 a cigar. I have been to tobacconists who have rare cigars for over $1000. It depends on your budget. My brother started smoking Cohibas back in the 80s when they much cheaper. Still a good cigar to start with. But there are many others and you can spend a lifetime sampling the various types. As you earn more money you can afford better cigars.

Greetings, Very accurate explanation on packaging. Although, I would like to add that cellophanes are not exactly like tubes the cellophane packaging is breathable therefore there will be aging on them but slower compared to naked cigar. Meanwhile the tube's as you said are time capsules. Also would like some content on vintage cigars how they taste now after decade's of aging on them. Best regards

This was a revelation. Until now, I have avoided tubed or cellophaned cigars like a poor stepchild, no matter what the maker...it just didn't sit well with me but hearing Eddie say otherwise has given me a new perspective. I will give it a try this weekend as I trust Eddie's knowledge implicitly. Enjoy, my friends.

Yes indeed. Though they will age not near as quickly in tubes, a cigar in a tube (preferably glass for me Hoyo De Monterrey has some beautiful ones) will age with much more personality. Eddie put it well when he said, "it's a cigar time capsule". Aging while also preserving the beauty of origin time & place when originally entubed.

Hello Eddie, I have a 125-cigar-capacity Ancora okoume humidor. For whatever reason, almost all the cigars I purchase (from individual sticks to entire boxes) come wrapped in cellophane. I don't buy the cigars for long-term aging - I plan to smoke them within a year. My question is - given the above, would you recommend removing the cellophane before storing the cigars in the humidor? It sounds like the answer is "yes" but I thought I would ask nonetheless. I welcome others' thoughts on this as well. The Davidoff of London videos are great - I would especially love to see more clips from your classy cigar lounge at the Bulgari. Keep em' coming! Frank
