Shifting without using the clutch like that is definitely possible. Used to do it a lot in the dirt on a 125sx. You can also hold your boot under the shifter and put pressure and it should click into the next gear when its happy. I dont know how much id recommend it on a higher power, longer longevity bike though. Definitely puts more strain on components. Doesnt matter as much on a 2 stroke that gets new oil every few rides and gets rebuilt pretty often.

Very nice to see. I just enlisted in the Navy and i have a BMW and wanna sell it for an r7. Ive always wanted an r6 but i can get a brand new r7 cheaper than a used r6. I spend about $800 a month on my car and im tryna save as much money as i can before i ship out and while im in school and everything. I understand about the cons of just having a motorcycle for commuting but i really dont go anywhere & i really wont especially after boot camp and a school. Ima be living on base so to me it makes sense financially for a short time then ima end up getting a car. Im just trying to save as much as i can.
