I don’t think anyone should wait 15,000 miles to do an oil change even if it does run half the time every time you start and stop you’re dumping gas into your oil carbon buildup plus if we bought this vehicle, we’re probably trying to get it to last 300,000 miles And if you want to last that long, you gotta do your maintenance intervals sooner

I'm not sure how the 2.7L Turbo is doing in the Colorado and Canyon but this engine doesn't belong in the full size trucks/1500. I had one and I just traded it in. The GMC dealership I bought it from would give me top dollar for the truck because of the motor. I said; "It's your motor.". The truck just didn't have enough power and the gas mileage was horrible. The best I could get on a good day was 21 MPG. I don't care what the reviews say here on KZbin, This engine is trash.

For the past year (& 10k miles) have had 2.7 turbo in '23 Silverado. Same Caddy 310 horse, but w/ 430 lb ft torque. 12% more torque than 5.3 V8, similar payload/towing. 3 or 4 better mpg. No issues. In a much lighter weight 4 door sedan, it's gotta kick ass.

Question: Just came from a dealer and asked how the gas engine is started in the hybrid model, with the HV electric motor or a normal 12 V. starter. I was told by service it was started by a 12 V. regular starter. Anyone know for sure?? I find too many dealers and even service "specialists" don't know enough about hybrids and how they work!!!
@ericbryant79624 күн бұрын
The Mav doesn't have a starter, its directly connected to the E-cvt so the internal electric motor starts the engine...and does so very quickly as it can spin it much faster than a typical starter. It is pretty much seamless compared to a conventional start-stop system. Also there is no alternator, no drive belt, tensioner or idler pullies on the engine to replace.
