One of the most inspiring videos I’ve seen. I’m taking this advice and running with it. I want to make something that matters now and will still matter long after I’m gone. Forget the hype and the trends. Thank you.

what Apple does is ridiculous.. 30% + 8% + 30% tax= almost 70% of the money to the middle man... what is this ?

I didn't even know there was an iOS app for Patreon. I agree with many of the other commenters, 30% is extortionate - you have a great product outside of the Apple app store channel to market. Maybe focusing on the web version is no bad thing. I love that KZbinrs can also link up their YT channel with a Patreon to provide member- only content, it feels good to be able to support the creators you love.

The biggest problem with Patreon is that it's trying to become a CONTENT CREATION PLATFORM instead of sticking to its core value proposition of being an ONLINE BANK FOR PROCESSING DONATIONS/FINANCIAL SUPPORT by superfans to their favorite creators(Enshitification).
@William_Clinton_MuguaiАй бұрын
Patreon doesn't understand that creators & superfans DON'T want/need YET ANOTHER content creation platform & the reason social media companies like Twitter/X are killing the 'Follow model' as the primary news feed is because they have DISCOVERED through TikTok that their users prefer the Interest Graph Feed to the Social Graph Feed. It has less to do with social media companies wanting to dictate the order of things & more to do with them MAKING SOMETHING THEIR USERS TRULY WANT! This is why Patreon is still struggling...

10 months ago, I decided to stop posting on my social media channels. I felt like I was just another hamster on a wheel, stuck in the endless cycle of “make £10k a month” hype and countless “must-follow” strategies. I was exhausted. Posting every single day felt like an obligation, and I was overwhelmed and honestly had no energy or motivation. The ideas were flowing but the execution felt lacking. I had become completely disillusioned with some of the newer, trendy marketing strategies (especially for social media). The truth is, my motivation never aligned with the typical rhetoric I was seeing everywhere. I didn’t want to use social media to churn out the same kind of "top tips," “don’t make this mistake,” or “my way is the best” content. It felt empty. With the rise of AI-generated content it began to feel like everything online was blending together into the same noise. I didn’t want to be just another echo. I wanted to do things differently, but I didn’t know how or what that could look like. Watching this video has brought so much clarity. It created the 'aha!' moment I've been looking for. It's helped me uncover what I was missing all along-connection. That’s what I’ve always wanted. I want to connect with people on a real, meaningful level. I want to collaborate with them to help grow their businesses and amplify their beautiful, ethical, conscious, and changemaking work. Even though I'm 6 months behind when this video was first published, it popped up in my feed at the exact time I needed to see it. It's given me the boost for 2025 that I need. Thank you!

Freddy was responsible for so many things that happened in my life, I remember watching Frozen Crossing part 1 in a time where Modern Warfare 2 was kicking in. every single kid my neighborhood wanted to do their version of that video and feel like they belonged to the game😂, and we did it! And also, I would have never heard of such a thing called GoPro if it wasn't for him🎉 I am from Brazil, hope to meet you some day❤ Thank you for the video!

Jack, great job until now, to start (I'm a patreon creator). But you never mention (I'm at min 26 of the video), the most important thing, to me: the internet job is much harder because the good ones are entering, and level of creation is way higher, so if you came in first, okay, there's a reason why you are good, but if you enter now, you have to be great, not just good.
