One of the most iconic behind the scenes R&L ever did, was when they moved into the studio they are currently in. And at that time, they had only just started hiring and got to about 20-ish people. I think that's why a lot of us thought this way. :D

I'm sure a good chunk of that hundred is the cast and crew of smosh, cause at this point they probably have as many people behind the scenes as GMM's core production team. I think when it comes down to it, and people may not like this, but Rhett and Link are VERY smart. They are business men, and treat Mythical as if it's a business. I know a lot of "KZbinrs" try to do the same, but R&L have mastered it. They started a whole company revolving around their image and personalities and they're doing a great job of it because they're very business savvy and I believe they always have been. Besides other things like consistency, giving the viewers what they want, and just their overall personalities. These guys know how to run a company and do a very good job of it in my opinion. By the way, Rhett and Link are probably my favorite people on this platform (:
@Scrofar3 жыл бұрын
I agree with this statement too. They're not afraid to try new things, they listen when their audience doesn't like something and adjust accordingly or over time, and they are overall very good at adapting and being flexible while balancing the sincerity of their show and humor. Side note, I also honestly think their merch has some of the most unique designs on the platform. Sure, it's got their logo and brand, but the variety in quirky styles and retro flair is seriously charming.

This was a great look into how their creative experience has exploded and it was so cool to get a glimpse behind the scenes at the "machine."

Also: With so much of YT being concerned about drama and tea spills, imagine building such a wholesome machine and having it be SO successful! The coolest thing about them is how much they have remained such kind people, who think and feel so deeply and let it shine through in everything they do. Rhett, Link, Stevie, Jordan, Chase, Josh, Emily, all of them really seem like they never forgot that they are kind and good hearted people who want to bring a little more joy into the world. I am so fortunate to have discovered them when I embarked on my journey into practicing medicine and through times of grief, and kept watching through some of my toughest days. Knowing that little bit of joy was waiting on my phone kept me sane when I felt very much alone. I’m one of so many examples of that. And they continue to encourage people to be their mythical best, which means so much more to people than they even know. If they only knew how much they impact the misfit, the lovably awkward, the ADHD kid inside all of us, and help that spirit in each of us grow proud and strong for being a little different. They are doing EXACTLY what they are meant to do. And I am grateful.

It's fun to see this kind of behind the scenes of Mythical studios. I've been watching them since before Good Morning Chia Lincoln days, and I think there's a part of me that still thinks of them as a two-man operation, and like a little secret of the internet. Watching them grow to become household names is still super surreal. I'm interested to see whether or not another TV show attempt is in their future (since they've made a number of well-received late night appearances & have more experience with a large production team), though I personally hope that they would instead continue to experiment and re-define what "internetainment" can be.

This was so delightful to watch and your enthusiasm was really sweet. I also find it really impressive that when you search for "scandals" involving them - there are none to be found. Other celebs and major KZbinrs usually have at least one or two stories out there that haunt them, but these two have nothing. They have both been married for 20 some years, they have kids who all seem happy and healthy and there are employees at Mythical who have been there a very long time - which tells me it's not a terrible place to work. I honestly cannot love them any more than I do and I am grateful for this documentary and hope they are reading the comments here. Because I am not really their target demographic (in my 40s here) and I watch every day. I watch because I feel like these two could be my friends and I appreciate them for the hard work they do to make me laugh - sometimes so hard that I have coughing fits (Orbeez GMMore for anyone wanting to almost die of laughter). This documentary was so good! Makes me love GMM even more. Also, one time a few years ago I wrote you a fan email and misspelled Pomplamoose and it has haunted me ever since. Still a fan, by the way.

This was such a beautiful exploration of R&L's story and their growth on KZbin. Love getting to really listen to the stories we've heard small sound bites of, but don't deeply know. Storytelling and youtube culture at its finest. Thank you Jack!
