Is the piano not just a harp converted to plucking instrument into a percussion activated instrument are the strings pitch and arrangement the same as the harp from end to end ? I'm a guitarist and I've always wondered ??

Debussy's music is genuinely transformative; he was a master who lived his life, like the quote says, in the spaces between the notes. Magnificent music!

Yes… We agree with you! His music was so beautiful 🥰

There is an important factual error in this video. It states that Vivaldi was fired by the Ospedale della pieta and that Vivaldi and the Ospedale were on bad terms. This theory has been discredited. And in fact the evidence shows that although Vivaldi took leave of absence on a number of occasions he was admired and received gratitude by the Ospedale.

Caruso's "vesti la giubba" (1907) was the first gramophone record to sell a million copies, one of them was bought by my grandfather, who also owned Gigli's "la donna e mobile" and several of Elgar's works. When my grandfather died the records went to my mother , and as a child I listened to them often.

Just got to the sustain pedal part - it was added far far before 1924! How else would Moonlight Sonata and thousands of other pieces have been played?

WHO ALLOWED THIS TO BE OUT! This man cannot pronounce French at all, and cannot even pronounce the name of Russia's greatest composr, or Verdi. Hire me instead, at least I am willing to imprve my French, since i just finished the latest major Debussy biography!: CLAUDE DEBUSSY: THE SUPREME ARTIST OF MUSICAL FANTASY.

Well made short biography about one of the greatest geniuses of classical music. It´s woth mentioning that he also loved jazz and was an admiror of Art Tatum and George Gershwin. Is it possible to reveal who are the interpreters of the recording of "Rach 3" which accompanies the documentary from the beginning to end? It is not the recording of the late 30s in which Rachmaninov playes his own work.
